Dior’s gorgeous new boutique at Edgars V&A

Christian Dior’s opened a brand new ’boutique’ at Edgars in the V&A. To celebrate, they flew in their pro make-up artist Emmanuelle Geoffrey to give mini makeovers to a bunch of us beauty peeps. Thus, I turned up to the store early Saturday morning. This was the first time I’ve seen the new Dior space… get a load of how gorgeously swanky it is…
Ooh la la!

See all those perfumes? They’re Dior’s new La Collection, a set of 10 ‘rare, authentic and elegant fragrances for men and women, created using only carefully selected, exceptional raw materials’.

And look at all the make-up! It’s a veritable candy store of Dior!

Oooh, what to play with first! It's all just too much for me...

As for Ms. Geoffrey, she turned out to be an absolute darling.

I introduced Emmanuelle to the SA natural treasure that is Jelly Tots, so I reckon we're even stevens now...

Emmanuelle is half French, half American, but is based in the middle East. I use the word ‘based’ very loosely because in reality, she spends most of her time flying around the world spreading le fabulosity and Dior-style glamour, much like a modern-day Fairy Godmother. She spends so much time on planes, in fact, that she says she feels like she’s seen every in flight movie in the world and has now resorted to playing the video games. ‘My favourite is this block puzzle one… it’s kind of like Tetris’, she says.

Before my make-up session, I had my skin prepped with a delicious array of Dior goodies that included a few drops of Christian Dior Skin Hydra Life Pro Youth Skin Energiser, (a deeply hydrating, botanical rich serum to plump up and revitalize tired skin), as well as Christian Dior Hydra Life Pro-youth Sorbet face and eye cream. I absolutely loved the eye cream! It’s a cool, light textured gel-creme that simply melts into your skin on contact.

Emmanuelle then set to work on my make-up, starting off with Dior’s Airflash spray foundation. It’s a nifty aerosol foundation that you can mist directly onto your skin, but Emmanuelle decided to spritz into onto a brush and buff it into my face for an even more natural look. ‘This is my favourite foundation’, she said. ‘It creates a beautiful luminescent finish and doesn’t look like you’re wearing any make-up’.

As far as concealer went, I got a bit nervy when she said she’d simply apply a bit more of the foundation under my eyes. I have quite dark rings  and without concealer I didn’t think a mere foundation would cut it. Still, I was surprised by how good it looked. Clearly, Airflash, despite being feather light, is fabulously buildable.

Eye’s wise, she gave me a pretty natural look using Dior’s 5 Colour eye shadow palette, Sweet Illusion, and a few licks of Dior’s cult-mascara, DiorShow, in Chestnut. (‘You think this is awesome? Just wait until you see the new one that’s coming out, Diorshow 360!’, she said. ‘It’s the first brush to rotate!’)

See those two 5 Colour Quads? Sweet Illusion is the purple-y one on the left.

As a finishing touch, Emmanuelle slicked on a little Dior Addict High Shine lipstick in Flamenco Red.

The zexy creamy grey nail polish on Emmanuel's fingers is called Gris Montaigne. It's part of the new Dior spring collection, Avenue Montaigne.

And just like that, I was ready to go…

I know, I know... just when you think I couldn't get any more gorgeous and then I go and whip out my 'Dior face' on you... ;-P

Thank you Emmanuelle, I loved my fresh, new look! I also loved leaving with a big ole’ sak of Dior goodies. Woop woop!

It's okay to send me hateful thoughts... I'd totally hate me too... ;-P

See that white mascara tube in the foreground? That’s Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum. It’s kinda like a primer for lashes, to make them thicker and longer so that when you apply your mascara, the look is tres dramatic. The girls on Makeupalley are all mentalistic about it and have given it rave reviews. In fact, it’s been testdriven by no less than 33 make-up obsessed, hard to impress chicas who’ve given it an average of 4.5 of out 5! Sjoe! And those lippies, just so you know, are Dior’s new Rouge Dior lipsticks. I was lucky enough to be given one to test the other day by the girls at Beauty Bulletin. It’s the most creamy, dreamy, decadent lippie I’ve used in yonks thanks to teeny tiny hyaluronic spheres that help give your lips a deeply penetrating boost of moisture.

Anyway, I’m very excited to get stuck into my Dior goodie bag and will be taking swatches and letting you know my thoughts on everything.

Again, a big thanks to Emmanuelle. I hope you have a safe trip to Malta. I still have no clue as to where that is, but it’s sure to be a more gorgeous place for having you.

Mwah!

Big (Dior Rouge) kiss,

Leigh
