I used to love Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle fragrance. It was one of my favourite scents, actually… Alas, I have a zillion million friends who love it too. So much so that the fragrance didn’t feel like my ‘own’ anymore. That’s when I discovered Chance, which, to me, smells like a lighter, fresher, more sparkling version of Coco M.
Of the two Chance flankers, the fruity Eau Tendre and zesty Eau Fraiche, I much prefer the former…
…so you can imagine how thrilled I was to receive one of Chanel’s newest, most lustable little lovelies: Chanel Chance Eau Tendre Shimmering Touch, R520,00.
Chanel Chance Eau Tendre's notes include grapefruit, quince, jasmin, white musk and amber.
Essentially, Shimmering Touch is a delicately scented silicone-based body gel that’s infused with a zillion, million sparkles. Now I hear you, I hear you… you’re going ‘body glitter? Bligh…’ But trust me, this isn’t the type you’ll find polluting the dance floor at a Bellville school disco… Chanel’s sparkle is super subtle and, unless you apply it with a very heavy hand, almost undetectable. It merely serves to overwhelm you with a wave of inner-child-ultra-girlie-glee as you open the jar and watch it sparkle like a limited edition glittery My Little Pony…
I like the ‘gel’ is riddled with silicones as this gives it a silky, smooth texture that really does just glide across your skin. In fact, you could even use it to smooth the odd flyaway hair, leaving you with soft, lightly fragrant locks.
Want one? It’ll be available at the Chanel counters by the middle of April. It’s also available in the scent of another Chanel Chance flanker, Eau Fraiche. In addition to this, you’ll also find Chanel’s new Sheer Moisture Mist, R370,00, for 100ml, in Chance Eau Tendre and Eau Fraiche scents.
