PR doll Galia Kerbel on what keeps her looking ‘it girl’ glam

If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know that I’ve been having fun featuring local PR princesses, getting them to spill on what it takes to keep them looking glam – even after the zillionth camera flash – throughout the party season. (To read about Little Black Book’s Marina Nestel, you can click here).

Today, I’ve got Galia Kerbel of award-winning PR co Greater Than. Eeeeveryone in Cape Town knows Galia. She’s the gal that threw that oh so larny BOSS Black launch – in a CASTLE sommer – last mo.

Le gorgeous Galia. Could her teeth get any whiter?

She’s also a PE meisie soos ek and one of the peeps I (attempt to) bum ciggies off when I get a little dronk at parties. Most of my memories of Galia include her running backwards while shaking her finger at me, saying ‘NO LEIGH! YOU TOLD ME TO SAY NO IF YOU ASKED. THIS IS ME SAYING NO!’ (If PR ever bottoms out, I reckon Galia would make a very well-heeled, glamorous-looking dog trainer…) ;-P

Anyway, I put her through the wringer and made her give up the glam:

What’s your favourite, most hard-working beauty product?

My favourite at the moment is my Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Bronze tones.  I don’t spend a lot of time in the sun, so this product is perfect for that sun-kissed look.

What do you always keep in your handbag for mid-party touch ups?

Clinique Superfit Makeup and the Bobbi Brown Foundation brush.  This brush is a must have for perfect foundation application. (Leigh here – must say, I use Clinique Superfit too. It really is one of the best long-wearing foundations I’ve ever used. Somehow, it manages to always look freshly applied, even after hours of wear. And it’s not thick or heavy in the least!)

When you wake up after a long night, how do you repair or hide the damage?

Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lift Age-Correcting Serum, Creme, and Eye Creme. These products are a little more expensive than other moisturisers but well worth it. I swear by Estee Lauder skin care.

Seriously? Is that all? I’ve never seen you with an under eye bag, like, ever. What concealer do you use?

I don’t have a favourite, but use Yardley Oatmeal Blemish stick during the day.

Quick! You need a mani and a blow out in a flash. Who you gonna call?

Spoilt Hair & Beauty in Greenpoint (021 434 7112) is like my second home. Their professional, experienced team get me looking party perfect every time.  And it’s a bonus that Blue Bay boutique is right next door to Spoilt, just in case I need to find some great accessories or even a dress to suit the special occasion.

And there you have it girls!
