Review: BaByliss Liss Brush 3D electric straightening hair brush

When BaByliss’ new Liss Brush 3D electric straightening brush crossed my path I was a little skeptical. Could running a hot brush through your hair really straighten it as well as a hair brush and blow dryer combo? And why would you want an electric brush if you’ve got a flatiron?

Ready to heat things up?

Needless to say, having giving it a bash I’m convinced of its brilliance but don’t take my word for it. Just watch my demo!

Things not included in the video that you should know? The brush has a 1,8m long cord with a two-prong plug and it shuts off automatically so you don’t have to worry about burning down your house.

The temperature settings range from 160 to 200-degrees (for reference, a ghd is set at just over 180-degrees). I suggest you start on a low setting to see if you can get away with using that and then only go higher if need be. Either way, always use a heat protection spray beforehand but only use the brush on hair that is completely dry.

Lastly, the brush has ion generators to helps to control frizz and limit static so you get a really nice, sleek-looking finish. (Much more so than what’s shown in the video. We were just moving fast and semi-freaking out that the dude mowing his lawn next door would crank up again!) Still, if your hair is very, VERY frizzy you might want to run a flat-iron over the very ends of your hair. While I’ve seen demos of this brush being used on extremely curly, very thick hair I think it’s best suited to those with fine to medium hair with soft to medium waves or curls.

Want? BaByliss’ new brush is exclusive to Clicks and going for just R799.

Love, love

P.S. Would you like to see more videos in 2018? I’m a bit rubbish at editing them but learning as I go. Let me know your thoughts.

  1. Thanks for sharing this. I’ve been wondering on whether a brush is worth it.
I like the video, just a suggestion to film it with higher quality video? I could mostly see pixels not really the actual hair.

    1. Pleasure! You can set your player to up the res. But I agree, it needed a close up clip which I took but deleted like a moron before editing. For what it’s worth though, I promise it does work 😜
