Ready to get naked once more? Urban Decay has launched an all matte Ultimate Basics palette

Are you that meisie rocking out to Maroon 5 in her white polo while taking selfies with your Vide e Cafe cappuccino slapping #blessed on everything? Do you follow every Kardashian on instagram, slap ‘Mean Girls’ quotes on Facebook (still!) and feel like life is always better on snapchat with a flower crown filter?

I hate to break it to you, honey lamb, but you’re a basic biets.

Ag nee!

On the upside, Urban Decay has launched a brand new palette you’re going to love – Ultimate Basics: a collection of 12 all new (meaning you won’t find them in other palettes) neutral matte shadows that traverse the spectrum from cool to warm.

Ta da!

Ready to take a look inside?

Matte attack!
Matte attack!

According to the brand’s founder, Wende Zomnir, they’ve been created using a pigment infusion system that gives the shadows a creaminess and blendability you won’t find in others.

From left to right:
From left to right: Blow, Nudie, Commando, Tempted, Instinct and Lethal.

..

From left to right:
From left to right: Pre-Game, Extra Bitter (Wende’s favourite colour for a crease), Faith, Lockout, Magnet and Blackjack.

I haven’t had time to play with these properly (pre-holiday deadline hell funsies) but I’ll be updating this post soon with the look I like best. Still, I can attest to the fact that these shades are fabulously creamy in a way that might soften up this satin and shimmer-loving chica to the matte side of life. (For me, Lockout is a serious winner!)

In the meantime, if you want to buy buy buy you’ll be glad to know Ultimate Basics has been added to Urban Decay’s local online store. If you buy any two palettes shipping is free so now’s the time to team up with a friend and get those palettes you’ve had your eyes on forever. (My favourite is still Urban Decay’s original Naked and I’ve got swatches for you over here. Just note that the comp in that post has closed.)

Love, love

Leigh
