If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know my li’l sis is an especially lucky fish who lives le glam le vie in France, in between Lille and Saint Tropez. In the latter, you’ll find a shoe shop called K. Jacques that make the most beautiful strappy leather sandals adored by the likes of Kate Moss, Miranda Kerr, Rihanna and, yep, my sister, Mandy.

So! When the brand got hold of me to offer me a pair I didn’t hesitate to yes. I know all too well how wondrous their quality is. My friend Leah is a photographer who lives on her feet and they’re almost the only sandals she wears thanks to discovering their fabulosity on a trip to France when she came over with the fam to shoot one of Mands’ weddings. (Mandy’s had a whopping three, all to the same dude, ‘cos that’s what you do when you can. As for me, I can barely find a guy who wants to hit up a coffee shop with me, let alone tie the knot three times but hey. No bitterness there. No sirrreee.)
But ja! Let’s get back to K. Jacques. They’re known for their top quality materials and expert craftsmanship, something gleamed over three generations of shoe making that have spanned over one hundred years. Now, aside from being able to purchase their shoes as is, you can order a custom creation like I did via their website. The process is super fun and I lost a whole evening playing around with different ideas before finally settling on a style and design.
This was my first intention.

As much as I loved the style up top, I worried that they’d be limiting so I ended up settling on something that would go with everything but still featured a pop of animal print and that’s how these babies were born.

Let’s take a closer look.

..

Anyway, if you’d like your own custom pair of K. Jacques know that their customer service is excellent. Once my order was placed, they shipped directly to my door within three or four days! Just a word of advice: K. Jacques run a bit on the small side and tend to be a bit narrow. I’m usually a 4 or 5 in sandals and in this case I should’ve gone for the 5 so if you’re also an in between size lean up, not down.
Love, love

Gorgeous design, Leigh!
Do you have to pay import duty to receive them in SA?
I didn’t but you never know. I might’ve been lucky.
At almost R3.5K… they’re quite pricey I must admit. 😦
Though they are pretty, I’m sure there’s some more affordable options in SA.
I am a big fan of these sandals! I am the Lucky owner of two pairs! Quite expensive I admit but good quality and great design.
