Belvedere Vodka threw an ultra exclusive MBCTFW party at Orphanage Cocktail Emporium

Last week several brands and venues threw partytjies to celebrate MBCTFW. Some were cool, some were kak but one you didn’t want to miss was Belvedere vodka’s at Orphanage Cocktail Emporium as the VIP guest list was super tight and included the cream of Cape Town’s flash pack.

Upon arrival, guests got to snap their pic with the infamous Belvedere vodka sirens (dressed by MilQ and Honey) before being treated to one of two delish Belvedere vodka-infused cocktails. My favourite was The Stiletto Fizz, a zingy, bubbly mix of vodka, champers and citrus.

A van den Berg family cheers.

The food was good too; ‘designer’ canapes that had been specially created to pair with the cocktails as well as platters of mini hamburgers, calamari strips and what not, the perfect ‘midnight snacks’.

I think I ate every tempura prawn on that plate, just so you know. And maybe all the chicken strips too.

Interesting peeps on the scene included comedian/actor Paul ‘Snoddie’ Snodgrass and Shannon Smuts who you might recognise from Master Chef SA.

I'm not sure if that's Snoddie's Blue Steel or if simply doesn't like being photographed.

Shannon has recently opened her own restaurant, Pure Good, in Hatfield street, just below Associated Magazines. I was actually there just the other day and tried her super healthy green juice in which was surprisingly delish. And I only say ‘surprisingly’ ‘cos I’m a disgustingly bad eater who  really struggles to get in her greens and considers a peppermint crisp-topped frozen yoghurt and Coke Lite combo a perfectly balanced meal.

I also got to meet soccer stud Pere Ariweriyai, a dead ringer for the A Team’s BA Baracus.

Just me and Mr T.

Pere was really sweet and now I feel bad as I’m uber kak with sports folk so I had no idea who he was and kept on calling him Perez and making stupid Mexican jokes which he totally didn’t get. In all fairness though, I had just come from the Olmeca Altos party and was already n bietjie dronk.

This is probably why I ended up leaning over the balcony and screaming Jen Su’s name like a bergie to get her attention after spotting her in the street outside. I had a conversation with her too but I can’t remember any of it, only that her skin-tight glittery dress was hypnotically awesome and, as always, she was the last word in graciousness.

Fashion blogger Jasna Zellerhof, Expresso’s Leigh-Anne Williams and Jen Su.

Other peeps on the scene included these guys…

Divine designer duo Christiaan du Toit and Malcolm Kluk; Top Billing stylist Elrico Bellingan and fashionista princess Ritza Janse van Rensburg, GQ fashion ed Arthur Malan-Murison and socielite Thandie Kupe with actress Natalie Becker.

Expresso’s Kia Johnson was also there (sorry babe, that pic came out blurry!) as well as Liezel van der Westhuizen and I later heard that fashion’s golden boy David Tlale was also out and about but I think I just missed him.

Thanks for having me Vivid Luxury; I do hope that Stiletto Fizz becomes a permanent fixture on Orphanage’s cocktail menu, it’s a serious goodie.

Love, love

Leigh
