As it turns out, Ralph Lauren’s Big Pony collection for the boys has done so well he thought he’d let us meises in on the aksie with a Big Pony line up for women:

Too pretty, right? Each bottle is emblazoned with a number from 1 to 4 on the back which is the perfume’s ‘name’:

Ralph Lauren describes each scent as ‘bright, playful and energising’ but makes it clear that each ‘number’ has a distinct personality:

#1 (blue) is the invigorating ‘sporty’ scent with notes that include grapefruit and blue lotus. At first sniff I thought the scent was too one-dimensional in a ‘shower gel’-type of way but then the floral notes popped up and now it’s one of my favourites. It’s the kind of ‘spray on anywhere’, ‘quick pick me up’-type of scent that’ll appeal to anyone who likes ‘aquatics’ like Davidoff Cool Water Woman. If I had to team it with a personality, it would be someone like Mariah Sharapova.

#2 (pink) is the ‘sensual’ scent created for the ‘romantic flirt’. Its main notes are cranberry tonka (vanilla) mousse which make it smell a bit like a pink cupcake. Personally, I think it would suit someone a lot younger than me who likes sweet fruity fragrances, kind of link Britney Spears’ Fantasy or Vera Wang Princess. It’s celeb counterpart? Someone like Justin Bieber’s girlfriend, Selena Gomez:

#3 (yellow) is the ‘free spirited’ scent, a light, breezy floral with top notes of pear and mimosa. If you like ‘yellow florals’ like Versace Yellow Diamond (which also features pear and mimosa), you’ll appreciate this one. The kind of care-free, easy-going girl Ralph Lauren reckons it’ll appeal to sounds quite a bit like Taylor Swift.

#4 (purple) is the ‘stylish one’ created for the ‘trendy, glamorous’ girl. The scent is a fruity floriental with cherry and purple amber notes. It’s my other favourite in that it’s got a bit more of a presence than the other scents. To me it’s sweet, but in a slightly more musky/patchouli type of way that makes me think (just a little) of Victor & Rolph Flowerbomb. The kind of person it’s aimed at are your typical city slickin’ ‘Gossip Girls’, chicas like your Leightons and Blakes:

While all the scents are different, they’re all sheer and luminous in keeping with Ralph Lauren’s Big Pony vibe which is clean, athletic and easy to wear; the ultimate in preppy prepness.
