Like I’ve said before, I’m not a winter baby. I don’t like being cold. Still, I do appreciate that all the best food and wine festivals innie kaap go down in the chilly season. So, this weekend, to help beat the winter blues, my friends and I are hitting up WineStyle magazine’s Winter Wine Party at Simon’s restaurant in Groot Constantia.
According to the press release, this particular little wine party is for ‘people who appreciate good wine’ but also ‘like to have fun’. So I’m going to take that as ‘folks who won’t judge me’ when I pass out on the floor or get dronk verdriet and start crying about my long dead kitty cats.
But ja, aside from loads of vino (from 30 estates all over the winelands) there’s also going to be live music (Andy Lund and The Rivertones, a wicked reggae band) and loads of food stalls.
Keen? Like I said, it goes down at Simon’s restaurant in Groot Constantia on the 3rd and 4th of August. (Friday 4 -10pm and Saturday 12 – 9pm). Tickets cost R100 and can be bought from Webtickets. (If you buy them at the door it’s R120) This includes a tasting glass.
See you there bietse!
