Last week myself, Clouds and Karisa popped into the official launch party for Zando, a fairly new local online fashion store stocking clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty goodies and more from both local and foreign brands.
What makes Zando awesome, however, is that they deliver directly to your door for FREE anywhere in SA with no minimum spedmd! And it gets even better; when their deliver person arrives, they’ll wait while you try on your items to make sure they’re the correct size. If not, they’ll take them back at no cost to you for a swap! It’s almost too good to be true!
Anyway, getting back to the launch… it was held at The Orphanage, a hip new bar that specialising in super-creative cocktails. I particularly enjoyed one called More Tea Vicar? (R55), a delish blend of vodka and rooibos syrup plus cranberry and lemon juice:
A clothing rack was placed outside the door so guests could browse some of the store’s new pieces:
Guest-wise, celebs on the scene included etv’s Tanya Nefdt, soccer star Ryan Botha and Expresso’s Liezel van der Westhuizen. (I didn’t have a shot of Leizel as she disappeared early to get enough shut eye for her crack of dawn Expresso call time.)
It was also nice to catch up with Elrico and Ritza from fashion blog Luxo. Ritza’s always dressed as though she’s just stepped off a bloody runway and then impresses even further by announcing that her top cost less than R20 and was found in the Mr P sale bale!
After eating a good barrow-full of truffle fries, I got to chat one of Zando’s buyers, Jeremy Wolfsohn. I made a point of quizzing him on hot winter trends and he said three biggies to buy into are shoe booties (‘if they’ve got a wedge, even better!’), military-inspired or double breasted trench coats and chunky yet lightweight knitwear.
Thanks Zando, we had an awesome time and I’ll definitely be putting my voucher to good use. This little guy is calling my name…
