I adore Clinique’s foundations and, like I’ve said before, am still mourning the loss of Superfit. Their concealers, however, have never really grabbed me. To me, they were either too thick, too sheer or settled into fine lines. Their latest offering, however, is actually very nice; Clinique Even Better concealer, R220.
Like the rest of Clinique’s Even Better line, it promises to help create a brighter, more even-toned skin tone thanks to the inclusion of vitamin C. I have no clue if there’s enough in there to make a visible difference to any pigmentation but if it’s the same type of vitamin C they’ve used in their Visibly Even foundation (magnesium ascorbyl phosphate), it’ll remain stable when exposed to light and air, making the jar packaging a-okay.
What I’m really pleased about, however, is the coverage it offers. The formula in regards to ‘thickness’ is a lot like Bobbi Brown’s concealer in that it’s nice and creamy but much, much easier to blend. I’m sure there’s quite a bit of silicone in the mix ‘cos it’s got a very slight ‘silky-feeling’ slip. It covers even the darkest of under eye circles and monster spots but doesn’t look too heavy or cakey. Another bonus? It stays put throughout the day and doesn’t settle into fine lines.
I was told it would be on the shelves mid-April so if it hasn’t hit your local Clinique counter yet, keep your eye peeled. This is a very nice concealer and will be available in a whopping TWELVE shades so you’ll be sure to find one that suits.
