So you’re a total slet for Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream. You slap it on everything. Bath in it even. Maybe you like to eat it sommer. But the damn tube lasts forever. How are you going to get another fix of having a new Eight Hour goodie in your life? I mean, you already own the hand treatment and lip protectant stick. And the sheen of your limited edition pot has worn off long ago…
Fortunately, Arden’s created yet two more lip products to expand their bestselling Eight Hour range;
Both newbies do a great job of hydrating your lips thanks to moisturising ingredients like Shea butter, castor oil, palm tree butter and honey extract. They also make use of collagen-encouraging antioxidants like vitamin A (retinly palmitate) and E.
The real differentiator is that the lip balm offers an SPF of 20 while the repair balm contains soothing, healing ingredients like arnica flower oil. In fact, if you’re addicted to regular Arden Eight Hour Cream, you might want to consider switching to the lip repair balm as you’re getting the petrolatum you know and love but with even more beneficial ingredients thrown into the mix. Much like with regular Eight Hour Cream, I’ve been using it on both my lips and cuticles.
Texture-wise, the lip balm offers a little more of sheen when applied to your lips. It’s ‘feel’ is quite close to the orginal Eight Hour Cream while the repair balm is a little ‘thicker’, almost like a butter. I prefer this (the buttery repair balm) to the lip balm as I like the way it tingles thanks to the addition of menthol. Also, it ‘sits tighter’ on your face so you can slap on your lips at night and hit the pillow without having it slide off your mouth.
Keen to try them? Both Eight Hour lip products are in stores as I type. If you’ve tried one or own one, let me know your thoughts in the comments section.
