Yardley’s Supermoist lipsticks (R64,95) have gotten a little makeover in that their new formula’s now ‘creamier, softer, smoother’. Each lippie boasts an SPF of 20 and is enriched with skin softening Shea butter and antioxidant vitamin E.

I was sent a few of the five new shades they’ve added to their line up:

Gotta say I rather liked these lippies. They remind me of Clinique’s Almost Lipstick in that they go on sheer, almost like a tint, and the colour’s buildable so you can choose your intensity. This allows you to be a little braver in regards to any very dark shades you pick out. To give you an idea, just look at how scary and dark Violet looks in the tube:

On your lips, however, you apply just one slick to create a pretty plummy-coloured tint:

Of course, if you want a bit of intensity, you can always apply a few more coats:

As for Yardley’s Colour Rush line, these are all about intensity in that they’re highly pigmented yet feel almost as creamy and delish as its Supermoist sisters thanks to the addition of jojoba oil. I can see from the ingredients list that they contain a sunscreen too, but I have no idea as to what the SPF is. Price-wise, each lippie is a very reasonable R69,95.

If you’re looking for serious colour pay off, Colour Rush is your baby. Prefer something a little more sheer with a whole lotta shine? Go check out Supermoist. Both lines are sitting on the shelves as we ‘speak’…

I recently bought one of the Yardley lipsticks at Clicks. Quite good value for money. I love the colour and its very moisturising. But it seemed not to have much staying power for me though.
Yardley is my absolute favourite when it comes to lipsticks. Their Colour Rush “Revolution Red” is by far my favourite red of all time. It goes on smoothly and stays on FOREVER without drying out my lips too much. I always recommend Yardley above any other lippy.
Revolution Red, you say? Will so be checking it out…
