Good Housekeeping magazing subscription special

When I was little, I used to be addicted to my gran’s Good Housekeeping magazines. (My Aunt Edie used to buy her a gift subscription every year, so she always had them lying around the farm house). I was particularly obsessed with the random mail order porcelain dolls and Norman Rockwell plates they’d feature in the middle of the mag each month. I also loved looking at all the fabulous American print ads which somehow seemed so much snappier, prettier and more exciting than our own at the time.

Later, when I was older and worked on Clicks’ ClubCard magazine, I used to pillage the Good Housekeeping website for ‘inspirasie‘ regarding story ideas and fell in love (oddly) with their online Stain Buster, a virtual A – Z guide that helps you obliterate marks created by anything from nail polish to ink.

Anyway, being no stranger to the mag, I’m thrilled that it’s coming to South Africa (in both English and Afrikaans, nogal). In fact, the first issue will be on the shelves within 2 weeks for only R24,99! They’ll also have a website as well as a local version of the Stain Buster. (Think ‘Help! I’ve spilled Mrs. Balls on my kortbroek!’) Better yet, they’re offering up a fab li’ll special; if you subscribe before the end of February, you can snap up 12 issues for just R299,40 AND score an additional 12 month subscription for a friend! That’s pretty much two subsriptions for the price of one.

To subscribe, simply SMS ‘GH Subs’ to 32698 and an operator will get in touch with you. I know I’m going to.

Love, love
