Unilever recently had several of their cosmetic goodies take first place in the Product of the Year competition, as voted for by consumers like yourself. Winners included AXE Apollo deodorant spray for men, Shield for Women Clinical Protection deodorant, POND’S Gold Radiance and Perfect Colour Complex Naturals lines as well as Vaseline Blue Seal GermSafe petroleum jelly.
To celebrate, they were kind enough to send me a box of their winners and, in my opinion, the best of this lot would have to be POND’S Gold Radiance Youthful Glow Day Cream.

I like that it’s got an SPF of 15 and a very high concentration of niacinimide (vitamin B3), the ingredient POND’S is relying on to help minimise the appearance of dark spots. The other anti-ager in the mix is retinyl palmitate, a less effective version of retinol, but something that’s easily tolerated by those with sensitive skin types. It sits very low down in the ingredients list though so you’d want to team this with a good retinol serum to get results.
My only ‘ish’ is that the gold specks are a little bit obvious-looking. So, if like me, you prefer not to sparkle, you could always try POND’S Perfect Colour Complex Naurals day cream. It’s also got a decent niacinamide concentration but doesn’t include a sunscreen so be layer one on top before you leave the house.
Lastly, if you’re the type to rely on Vaseline for hydration and wound protection, switching from regular Blue Seal to the new GermSafe version is a no brainer.

It’s pretty much the same Vaseline many know and love but also includes antibacterial actives. Bonus!
Love, love

I totally agree with you about the gold specks in the Pond’s Gold Radiance range – too obvious!
Ja, I hear you. I guess if this was something you wanted to use re wrinkle-busting you could always use it at night.
