Last week I popped into the launch of Magnum Pink and Black, the ice cream brand’s delish new limited edition summer flavours. Held at Shimmy Beach Club, the event was packed with an array of media and celebs and guests were treated to both a nail bar and an open bar. Oh hello there, darlings! No guess work as to which one I hit up first.

Peeps on the scene included Top Billing’s Jeannie D and Janez Vermeiren and his hot model wife Juliana.

..

Foodie blogger Dax Villanueva and MasterChef SA winner Kamini Pather were also out and about as well as model twins Simone and Roxane van Rooyen.

Other interesting folk I totally should have photographed but got too sucked into skinnering with included Cindy Nell, Roxy Louw, Lisa Cowley and Tanya Nefdt. To be honest, I did actually grab a shot of Tanya, but it came out super blurry but this is totally Magnum’s fault as I’d gone into glycemic shock from being exposed to a Magnum fridge that allowed you to help yourself and not get arrested for shoplifting.

After a bit of a schmingle, we were asked to move outside and watch a cook off. Two teams, one pink and one black, had to create some kind of dish involving Magnum ice cream. Or at least I think that’s what went down. I wasn’t enjoying the weather (wind whipping hair into my lipgloss? No, thanks!) so I stationed myself at the bar with a bucket of champers along with a few other like-minded (read: difficult) diva bitches and binge ate my way through an array of these boys:

In retrospect, I now totally regret missing the cook off as I later found out that Gareth Cliff was somehow involved and have had an inexplicable crush on that dude for years. (I know, I know. It’s bizarre. I can’t explain it.) Later, I spotted him hanging around the exit as I was leaving and my friends, who are all super mature and weren’t blind drunk at all, started screaming ‘OMG LEIGH! It’s your BOYFRIEND! GO SAY HELLO TO YOUR BOYYYFRIEND!’ and physically shoved me (hard!) into his direction while I attempted to make a break for the parking lot.
Anyway, a public humiliation aside, this was a spoilicious avie out. A big thanks to Marcus Brewster PR for having me, I had a lovely time and adore that super cute Magnum-shaped flash drive you gave me, but could you please stop ignoring all my e-mails regarding that event I want you to organise for me? Approaching you here isn’t ideal but I’m not sure how else to get your attention. Why are you ignoring me? Are you not getting all the mood boards I’m sending you?!

Anyway, if you haven’t tried the new Magnum’s yet, I say give the Black one a bash. After all, Gareth Cliff likes it too, so you know it must be awesome. Something else that’s awesome? Magnum’s holding a live twitter auction on the 23rd of November of ten luxuriously lustable items as voted for by Magnum’s Facebook fans. To take part, follow @MagnumSA on twitter or pop on over to their Facebook page for more information.
Love, love

That “wedding photo” of you and Gareth is everything ! Hahaha ! Love your sense of humor !
XoXo
You are special girl 😀
Laughed loudly reading this, properly. How do we get Gareth to read this now?? 😉
I’d tweet him if it weren’t for that stupid restraining order standing in the way of our love.
Wierdly I think you and GC would make a good couple. You’d certainly challenge him and keep him entertained!
Hahahah. And just like that Shelley nabs the role of Maid of Honour.
Looks like an awesome time! What does the word “skinnering” mean? Also, those appetizers look great! Anything with shrimp or calamari in it is good in my book.
Yes, we had a blast. Skinnering means gossiping ;-P
