So I went on yet another Edgars shopping spree – I know, I know… it’s become a bit of a thing. I’ll be doing two more posts for them after this one and, in the last one, I’ll be giving away a R1000 Edgars fashion voucher. Nice, ne?
Anyway, this time round I had bit more of a budget to play with which meant I could snap up a pair of One Green Elephant jeans, a brand I’ve been eyeing out for a while now. They’re kind of like Japan’s answer to Diesel in that their shizz is edgy, sexy and fits like a glove. Case in point, the pair of ‘Imizu’ slim fit jeans (R1 599,95) I picked out below.

Reasons why I love them? For one, they feel super-duper almost crazy soft, almost like brushed cotton. They also have an awesome ‘stretch’ – perfect for fat days – but still sit nice and ‘toit’ and don’t end up getting baggy in the crotch come day nommer three. I also like that they’re a lighter colour but not so pale that they’re not flattering to anyone who’s yet to fully shed their winter chub (i.e. me). Lighter colour jeans are a must for spring/summer as they look great with pastels and brights.
So, how did I style ’em up? Like this – with a pineapple tee and a pair of black and gold flats.

Still, while this outfit’s all very cool by the pool, let’s not forget that September weather in Cape Town’s a tad psychotic. But that’s an easy fix if you can layer up with a super cute, lightweight cotton checked Free2BU shirt (R299,95) and swap out your sandals for a kifftastical pair o’ tekkies.

I can’t tell you how much I love this shirt, peeps. I’ve been wearing it with just about everything lately and, if I had decent legs, I’d have totally used it to do the whole ‘oh here’s me rocking out in my white vest, checked shirt and sinfully teensy shredded cut offs’ vibe. But ja, let’s take a closer look:

Now let’s move on to the bit where I show you the super cute Free2BU mini heart vest (R99,95) I found.

Or, if the weather starts being douchey again, a good pair of wedges and a lekker Kelso denim jacket (R399,95).

Again, I love that this jacket’s made from stretchy denim. This makes it easy to roll up the sleeve
s which are actually full length. If I had to give you one tip in regards to wearing it it’s this – don’t team it with similar colour jeans. Like ever. If you do, you’re going to run the risk of looking like you’re wearing a weird-ass denim ‘suit’. Remember Britney and Justin at the AMA’s in 2001? Ja. You don’t want to go there. This is why I swapped out my OGE jeans for black ones.
So, to wrap things up, a big dankie once more to Edgars without whom I wouldn’t have One Green Elephant in my closet. Also, a giant hug and a kiss to my pro photographer bestie Leah. A super talented meisie, she’s worked for the likes of Cosmo and Playboy (her speciality is nekked chicas) and shot two of my sister’s weddings*.

Love, love
Leigh
*My sister had three of them, all with the same dude. (Yep, that’s just how she rolls.) A fab thing for me ‘cos now my folks are all weddinged out and won’t care as much when I die all alone.
That pineapple shirt – LOVE! Also, how cool are you?
Thank you! Snapped that up at Legit the other day 🙂

That’s man. Those are cheap ass Tomy’s I picked up at Jet or Ackermans. Forgotten which store. They were about R130, I think. Been living in them.

Just got the one green elephant jeans the other day, love them!!
Hi hi, iv come across some One green Elephant hoodies, just wana hear your opinion on the sizing, as soon as I hear “Japanese European” im worried about ordering the wrong size as my idea of that is “smaller” sizing? are they pretty accurate compared to our regular Edgars sizings where a M is a M and not a S…..
Hi Leigh! I can’t remember 100% but don’t remember feeling any of my usual sizes I picked out to try on were too small. Everything felt pretty standard. I hope that helps.
