Style36 sent me a spoilicous pakkie of treats the other day to highlight some of the beauty brands they have in store.

I was thrilled to see the Bioderma cleanser in the mix; it’s one of my beauty staples ‘cos it feels like water on your skin but takes off sommer anything. I’ve also used Uriage Thermal Spa Water before; you can read my review over here.
But ja. Getting back to Style36. It’s kind of crazy how big the store’s gotten in such a short space of time. They’re now offering same day delivery before 11am in selected areas of Cape Town which is flippen’ awesome and these selected area shoppers now have the option of paying cash on delivery. Also, if you live within the Cape Town city bowl or 20km around it, you’ll be able to try on your shoes while the delivery dude waits to ensure it fits perfectly.
Have you used Style36? Was there service any good? I’ve shopped a few online stores in SA and so far, in regards to service, I was most impressed by Mr Price, Stylemology, Takealot and Loot. If there’s anyone else you loved (or loathed) feel free to let a girl know in the comments section.
Love, love

I’ve used Style36 and I’m not as impressed with their delivery times as compared to Zando, MrP and Woolies. (I live in Midrand, just btw) Diligo either delivers in 2 days or a month. RunwaySale takes a while to deliver too, as does CityMob. But I suppose they only finalise their orders with suppliers once the flash sale ends.
Customer service is also not as jacked up at Style36, but this may have improved since I last had an issue with deliver time. It will be nice to be informed of where your stuff is after you’ve placed the order and not have to chase after them.
And yes, their offering has grown, and impressively so. I’m on the site every morning, like a lunatic because when they have a sale, YOH! Sometimes my order is in before I’ve opened both my eyes, let alone gotten out of bed! I may have what some people may call a problem…
Now all I need is for Clinique to deliver Bonus Time so that I don’t have to step into another effing Edgars store and my life will be complete.
Hahahah! I so feel you on Edgar’s. I must say, I love being able to buy what I want online as opposed to having to go into stores and deal with shop assistants who are mostly rubbish. And with the expensive parking rates of malls nowadays its soon going to be cheaper to get your stuff delivered than pay to put your car down.

And quite honestly, the convenience of shopping online makes the delivery all the worthwhile. You buy what you see in your size!
I get obsessive about finding something I see that I want, make those useless assistants phone all their stores in Gauteng to find it and then drive to pick it up if they don’t do branch transfers, which none of the them do! The petrol, the parking, the wine to stabalize the mood, it all adds up in the end to way more than the cost of delivery!
Totally! I love being able to see ALL the stock. Like when I shop on Mr P online I get to see all the cool things that are always totally sold out in store.
I can safely say that style36 has *not* amped up their service or delivery times. I have ordered items that I’ve been billed for and weren’t in stock, I have been promised delivery (after my order mysteriously never arrived) by their help centre, and only received it a week later (even though I emailed and phoned like a mad person)… and honestly, they are more expensive than Zando, especially when it comes to brands they share… BUT. They do have a great selection of luxury stuff that Zando doesn’t offer. And I do end up ordering time and time again, and then being so damn relieved it actually arrived 😛
If only the more efficient online stores offered a nicer selection of luxe (ish) products!
Thanks for the balanced feedback. I agree, Style36 has some nice ‘fancy brands’ where a lot of Zando’s things look like cheap Chinese imports. I’m glad there are several online stores and even more popping up soon in SA. Any competition between them will benefit us, the consumer.
