When it comes to eye shadow, I freakin’ love my bronzey taupes. The more trend-driven shades, things like pers, blou and groen, never really make it into my make-up bag, but mooi highly pigmented neutrals that enhance my natural beauty rock my freakin’ socks off. This is why I’m quite keen on the eye shadows in INGLOT’s new Coffee Collection.

INGLOT say the collection was inspired by ‘the rich, dark and decadent colours of coffee’ which made me expect a lot of brown – which I love – but, actually, there’s a lot of gold and silver going on.

Let’s take a closer look shall we?

I was given a few of the goodies including the gold eye shadow to try and like that it’s fabulously pigmented yet buildable. Just a few strokes and it’s on and then stays on. INGLOT’s shadows have always been awesome.

The silver gel eyeliner (#93, R149) isn’t a shade I can pull off, but I’ve been wearing it all day as a liner on one lid and sheered out as a cream shadow on the other (while working from home, I haven’t been walking around looking like a crazy person, okay?!) and it hasn’t budged. The shadow side hasn’t even creased! Tres fantasties. I’m now going to see if I can find it in a bronzey shade and work it as a cream shadow.

The nail enamel (#365, R99), is also pretty awesome in that it glides on without streaking, only needs two coats to operate at full impact and dries quickly to a nice, glossy-looking finish even without a top coat.
