If you’re a regular reader you’ll know I freakin’ love my Michel Mercier detangling brush. I don’t care if it looks weird; nothing else detangles my super fine hair – wet or dry – like this brush.
Anyway, my flatmate borrowed it the other day and accidentally melted it with her super hot hair drier (nice one Kim, you bitch!) so I immediately bought a new one from Dis-Chem. I then lost it on the set of a shoot (nooooo!) so buying yet another has sat at the top of my To Do list for weeks. I even drove out to Dis-Chem in Canal Walk specifically to pick one up and was annoyed to find they didn’t have any in stock.
I eventually got to that stage when I was completely gat vol and was like ‘To hell with this, I’m going to buy it online right now and I don’t give a toss if I end up paying double the cost of the brush for shipping. I want my goddamn brush!’
So! A quick google led me to Takealot.com who listed the brush for about R99 which is the same price it’s listed at Dis-Chem and to ship it to my door would cost a mere R30! (Petrol and parking to pick it up at a mall would’ve cost me more.) The very next day they rang me up to see if I was home to accept it but I told them to rather deliver it before one on Monday (today) as I was out of town. True’s Bob, the doorbell rang this morning and I’m now reunited with my beloved brush.
Anyway, Takealot.com have no idea I used their service. They didn’t give me a voucher to blow in their store. This isn’t an advertorial. I just want to put it out there that their service is totally top-notch. If you’re struggling for any hard to find beauty goodies – or any product for that matter – they’re really worth a bash. And if you’ve got fine, difficult to detangle hair, buy a bloody Michel Mercier brush. I’ve blown R300 and on three of them now and would gladly pay double that for another; they’re the shizz.
