While the line up consists of a delish-looking mix of sportsman, models and TV personalities, I know exactly who gets my vote; Mr October, Peet Mocke.

So why is Peet my favourite? It’s pretty simple. A) He’s a hot tamale and B) he’s a friend and I’m shamelessly, disgustingly biased.

When he’s not skulking the catwalk in his jocks, Peet works as an in-house photographer for Media24. We’ve worked together on a couple of shoots (I occasionally freelance beauty edit for YOU, Huisgenoot and Drum) and I can assure you he’s the sweetest, nicest ‘goeie Afrikaans seun’ with a regte heart o’ gold. The type of guy you’ll meet once and then the next time you run into him, he’ll give you a big bear hug instead of a handshake. He’s also super patient and once let me bitch and moan about my hideous break-up while binge eating a pie that crumbled all over his fancy equipment without blinking an eye.

Oh! And did I mention he spends most of his weekends labouring in the hot sun, building shelters for abandoned puppies with his bare hands? (This last factoid may or may not be a total lie to garner further adoration for Peet, but you’ll never know. Ha! I did warn you that I was shamelessly and disgustingly biased…)
