Kadus Professional is a German hair care range that’s relatively new to SA and now available at selected salons. I was given their Color Radiance shampoo and Intensive hair mask to play with.
What makes this line interesting is that it contains ‘negative ions’ (Kadus refers to them as Radialux Micro-Ions). Figuring out what that actually meant was a bit tricky as their website doesn’t really explain it very well, saying ‘our Radialux Micro-Ions technology targets areas of damage and adapts to the structure of the hair as it changes over time’.
Anyone know what that actually means? I have no clue. I mean, what happens once it targets a damaged area? What does it actually do to that spot? I did a bit more Googling as learned that negative ions have the ability to soften up and open your hair cuticle, allowing it to absorb more moisture. Perhaps that’s what the Kadus peeps were trying to say.
Still, technobabble aside, I enjoyed using both Kadus Professional products. The shampoo cleanses without over-stripping and the mask leaves your hair shiny and soft without weighing it down. I could even slather my roots in it and still enjoy clean-looking, bouncy locks that were easy to brush while wet. It also claims to remove chemical residue that can dull your hair colour and contains ‘color protecting polymers’ to stop it from fading too fast. Great for someone who’s got coloured hair but, if you’re hair’s been damaged by bleach, you’ll probably need something with more ‘repairative’ ingredients, things like hydrolized protein.
Anyway, like I said, the line’s pretty big and caters to all hair types. To find a salon stockist call 0860 104 109 and, if you try anything, please let me know your thoughts.
