So! Maybelline have brought out yet another mousse-y foundation:

This time, however, when I say mousse-y, I mean it; this baby literally foams out of an aerosol can just like mousse:

They say it’s their most lightweight foundation yet, that it won’t clog pores and boasts an SPF of 16. To apply, shake the can and spritz a little onto the back of your hand. You can then use your fingers to dab it onto your face before blending with a foundation brush or sponge.
I gave it a bash and initially found it tricky to get just the right amount of product out of the can. I’d give it what I thought was a teensy little squirt and WOOOSH, a massive cloud of caramel coloured foam would come billowing out. This soon came right with a bit of practice, however.
When it came to application, I simply dabbed the mousse on my cheeks, forehead, chin and nose and swept it out with a foundation sponge. Easy peasy.
Coverage-wise, Maybelline is right, it’s very, very sheer. Like very sheer. Fortunately, my skin’s playing the game right now so I didn’t really mind. Also, its being such a lightweight ‘veil’ of colour meant I could get away with going a shade darker than usual to add a bit of a healthy-looking tint to my face.

If you’re keen on a bit of coverage, Maybelline’s new foundation’s going to disappoint. However, if you’ve got nothing to hide but want a little colour, a bit of a sunshield as well as something for the rest of your make-up to cling to, this could be a nice addition to your make-up bag.
Love, love
