Bourjois Volume Fast and Perfect mascara review

If you’ve been wanting to get your hands on a motorised mascara for a while, but have been scared off by the prices, Bourjois’ new Volume Fast & Perfect mascara* is what you’ve been waiting for.

At just R149,95, Bourjois Volume Fast & Perfect mascara won't leave your wallet cringing in fear.

Its battery operated brush rotates either clockwise or anti-clockwise at the flick of a switch, making it easy to evenly distribute mascara from the roots of your lashes to the tip with very little effort of your own. The first time I used it, I wasn’t all that impressed as I found it created a look that was too clumpy. Still, I know this is often the initial result with brand new mascara, so I used a tissue to give the wand a bit of a wipe and tried again. The result? Jet black voluminous-looking lashes that were easy peasy and fun to create.

My lashes looking nice and lush after just one application of Bourjois Volume Fast & Perfect.

The way I like to use it is to switch it on and then insert the wand at the base of my lashes, holding the brush just beneath them. If I’m doing my left eye, I make sure the brush is rotating anti-clockwise and vice versa for the right as I want the brush coat each lash and roll up and OUTWARDS, covering my lashes from root to tip. After the brush’s rolling action has applied the mascara to most of my lash line, I then switch it off and use the brush to create quick, sweeping outward movements that helps to remove any clumps while improving definition even further.

If you’re looking for an innovative li’l stocking filler for a cosmetics-obsessed family member or bestie, you won’t go wrong with this baby.

Love, love

  1. OMW Leigh! I can’t believe how decent that price is. I got the Lancome vibrating mascara as a gift and loved it but never bought it again because of how expensive it was. This is so nice and cheap I’m going to buy two and give one to my sister! Thank-you! Nishaad

  2. I’m so glad you can get Bourjois in SA now. I used to have to beg people to bring the blush from the UK. They also do this great two tone mascara (one white undercoat, one black top coat) that I used to be obsessed with. But I def want to try this one too!

    1. I used to use that one too! Coup de Theatre! I think they still make it, but now I’m totally feeling the motorised twirly one, if only ‘cos it’s super fun to use. 😉 X x x
