Phyto Phytojoba Intense Hydrating shampoo review

I’m slowly working my way through all the amazing goodies I was given at the Cosmetiques de France launch the other day and just have to tell you how impressed I am with Phyto Phytojoba Intense Hydrating shampoo, R149,95 for 200mls.

I quite like the smart-looking aluminium bottle. (And nope, it doesn't rust in the shower, promise...)

Phyto is a botanical hair care line that’s new to SA, but has been an institution in France since the 60’s. Their Phytojoba line is intended for thick, coarse hair that’s a little distressed or dry, which isn’t 100% me – I’ve got very fine, thin hair – but its definitely under duress ‘cos I highlight the shizz out of it and this leaves the uber-fine baby hair around my crown in need of serious TLC. In fact, there are days where I won’t get a brush through it (after washing) if I don’t use an extra spray-on conditioner.

Anyway, I’ve been using the shampoo and LOVE the way it gently cleanses my hair, but doesn’t strip the hellin’ out of it. After washing it out, I can feel that my hair is clean, but not squeakily so, with lots of elasticity. Also, despite being mega-moisturising , it doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it feel ‘greasy’ at all. I’m also crazy about the smell- it’s kinda like nummy coconut ice!

Ingredients-wise, you’re looking at delish, hydrating natural additives, things like mallow, coconut oil and jojoba oil. Together they leave your hair nourished, tangle-free, super-shiny and touchably soft. What’s not to love?

If you’re looking for a new, more natural yet utterly indulgent hair care line, check out Phyto. It’s exclusive to Edgars and I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do.

Love, love

Leigh
