Review: NYX Professional Makeup Love Contours All palette

NYX Professional Makeup (yep, they’ve changed their name to something longer) have launched a new palette called Love Contours All (R354,95, Clicks).

NYX Professional Makeup Love Contours All palette

The nice and heavy-feeling mirrored case contains two highlighters (gold and silvery pink), two contour shades (light and dark) and two brow powders (light and very dark) along with nine eye shadows.

A peek inside…

Keen on a closer look at those shadows?

Some are shimmery, some are matte.

While it’s pretty clear what’s intended to be used where there’s nothing stopping you from using whatever you want willy nilly. For example, I find the lighter brow colour is nice to contour with and the gold highlighter makes for a great eye shadow.

Having used most of what’s in the palette I can say I’m really impressed with the quality of each powder. The pigmentation is gorgeous and everything’s super easy to blend.

I used the top right and bottom left shades to whip up this easy bronzey-coloured eye. My brow is filled in using the lighter brow colour. It’s photographed lighter in the pan than it is.

It’s hard to shoot a contour – the good ones are those you can’t see – but I used the lighter shade on the tip of my nose and just below my cheek bone and applied the champagne-coloured highlighter on the apple’s of my cheeks.

Forgive how dead my eyes look. I took this shot while I had flu.

I also REALLY love the silvery pink highlighter. It’s super flattering for my skin tone and I like that it’s a straight up satin finish shimmer. No glitter chunks in sight!

Considering you can pay around R350 for a single shadow NYX’s new palette is a seriously good deal, even if you only use half the shades it serves up. It totally gets my two thumbs up!

Love, love

Leigh

    1. Forgive me – that freaked out and just sent! Haha!

I have the other NYX contour and highlight palette, and while I was super underwhelmed by the pigmentation and glow of the highlighters, the contour and bronzer shades are super super pigmented! I have to be careful with how much my brush picks up, or I look like I’ve cocoa’ed my face! Very impressive!
