Review with swatches: L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Paint/Matte

L’Oreal have just launched a new liquid lippie to love called Infallible Lip Paint/Matte (R179,95).

All the tubes feel half full when you get them so don’t worry that you got a dud if yours feels ‘light’.

The shades range from nude to super bright and they’ve got a lot of silicone in them so they glide on nicely to create a smooth matte lip colour.

King Pink on the left, Hollywood Beige on the right.

I’ve also noticed that if you opt for the brighter/darker colours, they leave a very nice stain in their wake. In a way, it reminds me a little bit of Lancome’s Juicy Shaker Matte but the closest lippie to compare it to would probably be The Body Shop’s Matte lip liquid.

From left to right: Wuthering Purple, King Pink, Hollywood Beige, Red Actually and Apocalyptic Red.

Of all the shades I was given to try I most like Apocalyptic Red, a lovely deep berry. I like to slick it on and then use my finger to smooth it out to create a stain-like, airbrushed effect so it doesn’t create a harsh lip line (my lips are uneven so I generally do this with darker shades) and like that the effect is long-lasting but it doesn’t dry out my lips.

Lady in (Apocalyptic) Red!

Just note that, like most matte lip colours, if your lips are dry or flakey this will emphasise them. If this is you, consider investing in a gentle lip scrub. You can find some fab ones at Lush. I recently reviewed one over here.

Love, love

Leigh
