I know two people who swear by Caribbean Tan’s Cinnamon & Coconut Skin Smoothing exfoliator so I was happy when it crossed my path back in the day. Thing is, I had ten million other open scrubs in various states of use and the OCD part of me needed to use them all up before I cracked open another so I stuck it away and kind of forgot about it. Then, a new tub arrived just last week (Thanks Cosmetix!) and I’ve since been super impressed by its awesomeness.

First up, it smells like heaven. Like HEAVEN! Or, to be totally specific, like cinnamon pancakes flipped in coconut oil!

I’ve been attempting to get back on Atkins for the last week so I’ve cleared out every drop of sugar in my home and I’d be lying if I didn’t say that, in my sweetness-deprived, sugar withdrawal-addled state, I got all ‘crazy eyes’ and wondered if it would taste as good as it smells…*

That should be enough of a reason to pour on the love but it’s also fabulously effective. Scrubby enough to blitz your legs but gentle enough to use on your chest. I like to use it skin that’s slightly damp as opposed to wet for maximum exfoliation before hopping in the shower to wash it off. While it is oil-based, it’s not crazy town oily which is great. I’ve used oil-based exfoliator before that was so ‘slick’ I literally had to apply a palmful of Sunlight dish liquid to cut through the grease so I could climb into bed without leaving a giant oil stain on my new sheets. Fun times!)

As far as cost effectiveness goes, this dude gets a gold star. I mean R59,95? That’s cheaper than a blerrie butter chicken ready meal from Woolies! I’ve also found that, especially if you use it before getting in the shower, a little goes a long way.
