Forever21 SA ‘Outfit of the Week’ blogger challenge part 1: Jump(suit) for joy

I don’t know about you but I love a li’l competition and when you throw a shopping spree into the mix then you’ve definitely got my attention. This is how I came to accept a serious spoil from Forever 21 – a gift card to put together three outfits in a bid to win an Outfit of the Week challenge, pitted up against seven other bloggers.

Hitting up the Canal Walk store, I felt like a kid in a candy shop. It’s got a whopload of nice things at the moment and much of it’s fabulously priced, particularly their accessories section that I went a little crazy in as it’s pretty much Stocking Filler Heaven. As far as my first outfit goes, I ended up picking out a flattering black jumpsuit with a mooi touch of ‘bedazzle’ on the shoulders, as it’s perfect for the party season. Can you believe it was marked down to just R500?!

Sucking it in like a boss!

I completed my look with a pair of black satin ankle-strap heels (R499) that I love as they elongate and flatter but aren’t too high so you can dance all night when all those Christmas cocktails kick in.

Can my Uber just get here already?

Also, how adorable is this clutch (R249)? It say’s ‘Let’s’ on one side and ‘Party’ on the other.

Last but not least, I opted for just one accessory – a delicate yet sparkly ring for just R59.

A new silver ring was at the top of my Christmas wish list after losing one of my favourites
A new silver ring was at the top of my Christmas wish list after all the stones fell out one of my favourites.

As my jumpsuit itself had a little blingaliciousness going on, I wanted to keep things super simple. There’s nothing worse than overwhelming a good outfit too many accessories, much the same way you don’t do up your eyes and lips at the same time.

So, what do you think? If I win the outfit challenge, I’ll score a R2 100 clothing voucher from Forever 21 but, because I’m giver, I’ll be handing that over to one of you guys as I’ve been spoiled enough this Christmas. To enter all you have to do is like my outfit post on Instagram. (I’m @lipglossgirlxoxo) or leave a comment below telling me what you’d most like to buy using the voucher.

I’d like to make it clear, however, that this is just something I’m doing sommer so. The blogger outfit comp is being judged by Forever 21 and the amount of likes it gets has zero bearing on who wins. A very good thing, considering some of my competitors have a zillion times as many followers than I do.

A massive thank you to my amazingly talented photographer bestie Leah Hawker who painstakingly walked the Company Gardens in its moer on a quest for flattering lighting, let me wipe my dirty feet on her jeans and used her body as a human shield while I changed outfits in a bush. Again, I’m super sorry for smearing all that blood on you after ripping my finger open during tag removal and I totally forgive you for putting that super gross yet admittedly miraculously made bird nest in my hand bag. Dirty, hippie!

Love, love

Leigh

This competition is open to SA residents only and a winner, provided I win a voucher myself, will be chosen using a random number generator after all three outfit posts have gone up drawing entries via Instagram likes and this blog’s comments section across all three outfit posts.

  1. You look absolutely fab-tastically-gorgeous!! Love love love this outfit and can TOTALLY see you rocking it out. When you turn your back I’ll be swiping that jumpsuit straight of your bod and running 😉 LOVE it. Its surprisingly elongating and slender making considering the soft cut and I love the shoulder details which aren’t tooooo blingy.

    1. None of your compliments count Ms Hawker ‘cos you’re biased by the fact that we love each other stukkend and you’re addicted to my spanakopita recipe. But nice try x x x

If I was to get my hands on that voucher, I admit I would go crazy and shop, shop, shop but I would need to keep the voucher till I get to CT in April – by that time I’ll need a new bag so that would be top priority!!
