Bodyography is a mineral-focused line of professional cosmetics that hails from Los Angeles but is now available in SA. It’s pretty well known in the states and is available in over 40 countries and it even has celeb fans that include Teri Hatcher, Paris Hilton, Heidi Klum, Cindy Crawford and Paula Abdul.
Interestingly, the range doesn’t contain any body products save for a tinted lotion that can be used pretty much everywhere, but it does serve up some of the nicest primers and foundations I’ve seen in a while.
I got to learn a bit more about the range the other day at a launch and liked that their goodies include anti-aging ingredients wherever possible; are talc-, paraben-, filler- and fragrance-free and don’t test on animals. They also make a point of using minimal packaging that’s fully recyclable.
Of all the items I got to play with, these were my favourites:
Veil foundation primer in Green, R330
This is one of the brand’s bestselling products and I totally understand why. After spreading it on the back of my hand any redness was totally obliterated. I loved that I could put my hands next to each other and immediately see which one had been treated; the results weren’t subtle, it was totally clear as to which hand had been improved.
I also liked that it felt fabulously light on my skin and that the formula contains line-smoothing Dermaxyl, antioxidant green tea extract and vitamins A and E.
I used to love DuWop’s Lip Venom gloss back in the day but getting hold of it was a schlep. Bodyography’s gloss reminds me of it so much in that it contains a potent amount of cinnamon to give your lips a nice burny feeling while causing them to swell a tad. Unlike Lip Venom, however, Lip Vapour also contains hydrating marine collagen, antioxidant collagen encourager vitamin E and a lot more pigment when it comes to the coloured shades.
Flawless Finish Tinted Moisturiser, R325
If you’re looking for a lovely tinted moisturiser that goes on like a sheer veil and looks super-natural thanks to lots of light reflecting pigments, this is it. It’s also enriched with antioxidants green tea and Echinacea; vitamins A, C and E and has an SPF of 12.
Seen anything you like? Bodyography is only stocked at selected salons and can be bought via agents kind of like Avon. Also, I see you can snap up a very limited selection of Bodyography goodies online via rubybox. Here’s hoping they start stocking more items; this brand’s a real goodie.
Love, love
