Fancy pants salon hair care brand Pureology make some amazing stuff for your locks y’all. I love that their goodies are free of silicones and sulphates and all the other ‘bad things’ people go on about nowadays. But mostly, I love that their Hydrate range makes my hair feel soft as silk without weighing it down.
For the last few days I’ve been using their new limited edition Hydrate shampoo (R220) and conditioner (R250).

R10 from the sale of each bottle goes towards helping Green Cross International provide clean drinking water and eco-sanitation to five schools in Ghana via the Smart Water for Green Schools program. To learn more about clicky clicky over here.
The new packaging boasts a compilation of drawings by students from the Makango school in Ghana, one of the Smart Water for Green Schools beneficiaries. The formula, however, is still the same; an anti-colour fade shampoo that gently cleanses and smells like yummy patchouli and a fabulously hydrating uber-minty conditioner.
The reason why the conditioner is so zingy is because it also aims to stimulate blood flow to your scalp to better its health. Then there’s a host of mega-moisturising ingredients that include jojoba, Shea butter and an array of natural plant oils. There’s also protein in the mix to help fortify your hair shaft and, as it’s been hydrolysed (made smaller) it can better penetrate your locks.
After washing, I loved that my brush simply glided through my hair – no tangles, yayness! – and the end result was soft and sleek even with minimal blow drying. This is one of those sham and con sets I’ll definitely be hiding from my flatmates. (Currently, my ‘you can use anything you like except this’ stash also includes John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating shampoo.)
