Remember how I told you that Estee Lauder now has an online store? Well I got to give it a bash the other day as the brand spoiled me with a zexy little shopping voucher.

Deciding what to blow it on was tough. While I like some of Estee Lauder’s lotions and potions, I’m quite the fan of their make-up. Especially their foundations and powders which are all pretty top-notch. After a seriously long browse, I eventually popped some goodies into my virtual shopping basket and hit pay. The whole process was absolutely seamless. The only teensy ish I had was that it wouldn’t allow me to add the one Pure Colour lip gloss shade I wanted (Fuchsia Fantasy) to my shopping bag. I think this must’ve meant it was out of stock.

Anyway, a couple of days went by and then – ta da – my parcel was delivered directly to my door. Love that! It was even gift wrapped in pretty paper. (Lauder gives you the option to gift wrap your goodies for free.)

So! Let’s take a look at my loot shall we?

Of all the goodies I bought, I’m most impressed with Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation (R415). I picked a shade 2.0 and it’s a great match for my skin (For reference, I’m a MAC NC25.) It creates a nice matte finish that really does sit tight and doesn’t feel too heavy, which is the problem I have with the original Double Wear formula.

The concealer, Estee Lauder Disappear Smoothing Creme Concealer in 02 Light (R275) is very nice too. I never find anything that can contest my beloved Lancome Anti-cernes concealer and so far this is giving it some healthy competition.

I also really like Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place powder foundation (R435). The colour I picked, Sand, turned out to be the teensiest bit too light for me but works perfectly on days when my facial self-tan’s worn off. (I live and die with self-tan on my face so as to appear human. My natural skin colour, which nobody ever really sees, is a ghostly, Casper-esque hue.)

I like to apply it with a large powder brush after my moisturiser and concealer; it’s the quickest way to get coverage and then dash out the house. When I wear it dusted over foundation, however, it then gives you that perfect-looking ‘I’m actually a Top Billing TV presenter’ skin that works nicely on launch days when I know I’m going to be photographed.

Oh! And did I mention that all Estee Lauder online orders come with a generously sized free sample that you get to choose? Yayness! I also received a little zip up make-up mag with an assortment of minis as I spent over R750. Spending over R750 also entitled me to free delivery.

If for any reason you can’t get to an Estee Lauder counter, shopping their store is a fab alternative. It’s also a great way to send mooi gift-wrapped geskenke to the people you love across South Africa.
