So Lee Stafford jetted in the other day and I got to have lunch with him, along with a couple of other beauty eds, at a fancy pants Southern Suburbs mansion party catered by a personal chef. I know, I know. My job’s a bloody dream. You totally hate me. Life’s unfair. Blah blah blah. Still, for the record, Lee’s a really nice, down to earth guy who pretty much charmed the socks off everyone. Not a drop of diva there, which is often the case with celeb hair dressers.
I actually meant to take a shot of him and I together but, thanks to a new Invisalign retainer which is always crazy painful on day one, I was tripping off my face on muscle relaxants and forgot. So here’s a shot of him and his hot new model wife I ripped off the net.

Still, I got to interview Lee towards the end but came off like a total stoner, saying things like ‘I totally had a question for you. Like in my mind. But now it’s gone.’ Oh! And I then went on to semi-insult him (not that he let on) by telling him I used to use his Beach Babe sea salt spray but once wore it on a day when I had a raging migraine and now associate its smell with blinding pain and misery. God! Could a giant meteorite not have just struck me down after lunch?!
But ja. Whatevs. Let’s talk product, shall we? I’ve got some exciting stuff to tell you, the first being that Clicks will soon be stocking Lee’s products in cutesy li’l mini sizes at R35 a pop. Yayness!

I love how in the UK, mini size products are all over the place. Aside from being great for travel, they’re a fab way to try out something new without having to invest a lot of cash. They’re also sooo much easier to shoplift. Kidding! Kidding! So about that meteorite, hey?!
Also, Lee’s new argan-oil infused range is about to hit the shelves and I was spoiled with this boy:

Essentially, it’s a silicone serum with a bit of Argan Oil in the mix. Initially, I rubbed about five drops through my lengths but this was waaay too much and my hair ended up looking a bit greasy. Once I got used to applying just the teensiest drop, however, it looked great. I liked that it made my super-fine tangle-prone hair a bit easier to brush while wet, felt super soft to the touch and had a bit more shine. All good things.
I’ve also been using these guys:

These were created after the phenomenal success of Lee’s Hair Growth treatment for hair that never grows past a certain length, also R95. He says the hair mask is so popular in the UK that people run into stores, scoop it off the shelves in bulk and then sell it on eBay for almost triple the price! (I just took a quick squizz on eBay and see that one is selling for $30/R300! Do we see a future potential cash cow here, my darlings?)
Anyway, the new shams and cons are formulated with a lupine protein called anelgine to help stimulate the metabolic activity of your hair bulb and help your hair grow to its maximum length. Does it work? Hard to tell. I don’t really struggle in regards to growing out my hair. Still, it’s a great li’l duo in that, like the argan oil serum, it ensures my hair’s easy to comb while wet and dries to a bouncy, shiny finish. The only thing that annoys me is that squeezing the thick-ish conditioner out of the squeeze top bottle isn’t always a breeze.
A quick note from Lee: his Hair Growth shampoo and conditioner work best with his Hair Growth treatment. He advises you use the shampoo, rinse it out and then apply the treatment to your hair for a good five minutes before rinsing. You’re then to finish up with the conditioner.
So! You seen anything that’s got you excited? And do you have a Lee Stafford favourite you reckon I simply have to try? Chat to me in the comments section.
Love, love

I like the Poker Straight Dehumidifier. It says to use “before exercise, before clubbing, before bed, before facing the world!” Tried it all ways, was impressed all ways. I like to dance my ass off and throw in a few head spins to a Beyonce song. And my hair almost never survives it, but this Dehumidifier baby is a charm. Went clubbing with “fresh” hair and when I got home at 2am, my hair still looked as pretty as when I left home. Still shiny and smooth-looking. Didn’t smell the same as when I left home, though, but anyway. It’s a nice alternative or additive to serums. No obvious residue, and it doesn’t “dull down” the hair like some sprays do.
I’ve got the Lee Stafford Climate Control and Beach Babe in my hair kit and I’m in love with this range of products now. and I’ve been using the Gosh argan oil serum and find it pretty darn awesome and doesn’t weigh my hair down. I wanna get my hands on the LS hair growth stuff. My hair be thinning out (suck much?) and I wanna see how well it works in that respect. Great article (as per usual)!
