The Little Black Book’s super exclusive HUGO BOSS party; the event of the year for sure

For the past couple of years now, the annual HUGO BOSS Spring/Summer fashion preview has been one of the highlights of the Cape Town social calender. Remember 2011’s awesome mansion bash? This is the party you schedule your Botox appointment around, girls. The fabulosity is intense and the guest list is tight. It’s always well attended by everyone who’s anyone and touted as ‘the party of the year’.

This year, it was held at The Look Out in Granger Bay which played host to a glamorous mix of celebs, media, socialites and hot models like Kerry and Tracy McGregor.

Their gorgeous rokkies are HUGO BOSS, darlings. But of course...

Even American actor Kevin Spacey showed up (I know! OMG, right?!) but nobody has a snap of him ‘cos, as it turns out, he’s actually very press shy. (Love you Kevin! I know people always blab on about that amazeness that was The Usual Suspects, American Beauty and what not but I still adored you in The Negotiator. You totally rocked that bullet-proof vest…)

Olympic swim champ Ryk Neethling was there too. His very own wine collection flowed from the bar all night along with a river of Mumm champagne.

(For those who don’t know, Legacy Lifestyle is a new exclusive rewards programme. You can get all the details over here.)

Hot mama Cindy Nell was also out, looking beautiful in royal blue chiffon.

Cindy’s five month’s pregnant and still the epitome of glam.

Many don’t know it, but Cindy’s the importer for Catrice and Essence cosmetics as well as the owner of Caribbean Tan in South Africa. Having a stable of beauty brands clearly has it’s benefits ‘cos the girl always looks flawless. Last night, her golden glow was thanks to Caribbean Tan self tanning mousse in shade C (that’s my favourite product in the line too) and her lippie is Catrice Ultimate Shine lipstick in a shade called Get The Nudes Paper.

I know this ‘cos she pulled it out of her handbag sommer so to show me so when you read all those interviews with Cindy about ‘what’s in her make-up bag’ and she reels off a string of her own brands know that she’s not just talking smack and really does live her lovely brands.

Other peeps on the scene? KykNET’s Kia Johnson and actress Tamika Doubell:

I like you with rooi hair Kia; tres mooi.

Oooh and speaking of mooi, how much do we heart these pretty li’l party outfits?

Ritza van Rensburg from fashion blog Luxo killed it with Gaga-inspired shoulder pads while super hot socialite/Decleor SA ambassador Thandi Kupe (who I see everywhere) rocked a little pink pelmet dress from Mr Price that I so desperately wanted but was sold out in my size.

After a bit of schmingling, we got to take in a fashion show that didn’t disappoint. HUGO BOSS clothes always look so crisp, clean and cool. Right now, the brand is big on navy blue as well as bold floral print and very structured leather bags. I tried to take a few shots but this is the best one I could get:

Classy in blue.
Such a pretty neckline.

Later, when more proper media shots start coming out, I’ll update the post with a few of my favourite hot model boys looks.

Food-wise, I was glad I came hungry ‘cos I got to hoover up more than my share of ultra luxe canapes; think fresh oysters, prawns in a tangy citrus sauce, cutesy li’l baby quail eggs on sticks and the most delish melt-in-your mouth deep fried baby marrow tempura I’ve ever tasted. Seriously. I think the poor waitress who was carrying it around all night now has post-traumatic stress syndrome from the way myself and my friend Clouds stalked her through the crowds.

Don't mind if I do...
Yes please!

Later, the DJ started to crank up the music and people let down their hair and danced a little. Or myself and actress Leanne Summers did. Girl’s got some moves on her.

Roxy Louw,
Roxy Louw, Leeanne Summers and Roxy’s sis, Misty.

Eventually, I ended up parking off on the deck to eat a mini ice cream cone with Peter, a photographer from Die Son. I regaled him with my cunning plan to one day lipo all the fat off my knees and use it to create a range of ultra-luxe waterbeds for very spoiled hamsters. He tentatively poked and my legs and said ‘I don’t know, hey. It doesn’t seem fluid enough. You’d probably need to use something more “liquidy”, like water, maybe.’ He was being dead serious. And that was when I knew it was time to call it a night.

Thank you Marina and the girls from The Little Black Book PR; you promised ‘the party of the year’ and boy did you deliver. This was super fun.

Love, love

Leigh

P.S. I had other shots of myself and Clouds (who looked lovely in sequins) but accidently deleted them. When the social snaps start going live I’ll steal them off various sites and update this post.
