Max Factor Colour Elixer lipstick review

Max Factor’s got a new line of ‘serum-infused’ lippies and foundations coming out and both are very, very nice. The first to launch is Colour Elixer lipstick, R120.

Each lippie boasts a mega-moisturising formula that contains 60-percent lip loving skin emollients and antioxidants like vitamin E.

I was given Ruby Tuesday, the shade above, to play with.

Shot with flash...

…and…

...without.

While I like this bold, attention-nabbing shade, I prefer reds that are even more blue-based. Still, the lipstick formulation itself is lovely. I liked that it’s incredibly pigmented so you literally only need one slick to get the colour’s full impact on your lips. It also feels fabulous on; feature light and silky, silky smooth. I literally kept on wanting to rub my lips together. Another plus is that, unlike many other uber-hydrating lippies, this one really sticks around and survived both a cup of coffee and a hot crossed bun.

Packaging-wise, the case is gold plastic and the lipstick itself has the Max Factor ‘X’ embossed onto it:

Sealed with an 'X'.

If you’re looking for a new fab-feeling lippie that isn’t shy when it comes to colour, I think you’ll like these ones.
