Uriage Eau Thermale D’Uriage thermal water review

A few months back I was given a bottle of Uriage’s thermal water spray, R99,94.
It kind of sat on my bathroom shelf for a while but I cracked it open the moment we had that disgusting heat wave. I LOVED how spritzing it on my face immediately left me feeling cool, fresh and invigorated. In a way, it’s kinda like the facial treatment equivalent of sticking your head out of the car during the middle of a long, crappy road trip. (Being from Port Elizabeth, I’ve done a lot of these, including one where all I’ve had for company was a Vanilla Ice mix tape that had been perma-wedged into my dash. Seriously. Vanilla Ice. I couldn’t even make that shit up…)

Anyway, getting back to Uriage’s thermal water… it now sits on my bedside table and I can’t stop reaching for it regardless of the weather. Naturally, this amuses the livin’ daylights of my boyfriend who can’t understand why I or anyone else would bother to pay for something he deems to be plain old water. ‘I can make you another one from the bloody tap!’, he says… ‘Give me a spritzer bottle and I’ll sort you out for free…’. Blah, blah, blah… Being a guy, or perhaps just uninformed, he’s clueless as to the difference between tap and thermal water – and perhaps you are too, so let me just explain…

Thermal water comes from deep within the earth and is rich in trace elements and minerals like soothing bicarbonate, healing zinc and antioxidant copper. Uriage’s thermal water contains all of these goodies as well as sulfates which can help regulate your skin’s oil-production while it hydrates. It’s suitable for all skin types (even that of li’l babas) including very sensitive, reactive type skins. In fact, you might actually find it helps out in calming it down.

Another thing I like about Uriage’s spritzer? It doesn’t stuff with my make-up. Really. I can spray it all over my face having just applied foundation, eye shadow, the works and because its such a fine, gentle mist, anything I’ve put on simply doesn’t budge. This would definitely be my dream travel companion if we were allowed to carry aerosols on a plane and, if I ever end up stuck in an office with seriously fierce air con, this baby’s going to live in a drawer in my desk. (Hidden, you see, ‘cos I just know that he’s the type of goodie that once any colleague gets just a taste of, they’ll all be back for more…)

So ja…, if you’re looking for an indulgent little spritzer buddy I’m sure you’ll be happy with this one.

Love, love

Leigh

  1. Luuuurve the Uriage spray too! I use it to soften my makeup a bit too. I also use their cleanser and scrub. I have acneprone skin and this is the first range I’ve tried (and I have tried MANY) that makes my skin better, takes off all the makeup -I model so wear craploads! And the scrub is lovely and scrubby with lots of beads! Plus the whole range is super affordable so gotta love that!
