Get in touch

Is there something you think I should know about? Give me a shout on <>

Please bear in mind that while I respond to comments on my posts I can’t respond to e-mail requests for blogging-related career and/or personal beauty advice as I get too many of these and don’t have the time. I hope you understand.

Love, love

Leigh

  2. i love your blog – u are so lucky that u get to try new products for free – do u ever host comps for your fans?

    1. Sent you a direct mail with the low down, but ja it’s all good. Actually on our FOURTH order… that’s how much we love it. And still no taxes!

      1. Got your email, thanx so much. Will definitely try it as soon as the budget allows 😉

        All the best!

    1. That’s so weird. It should be on the shelves. I guess I’d phone a few Clicks around me to see if they’re in stock. Otherwise, if you’re blonde, I have the ‘Light’ one sitting at home and would be happy to give it to you if you live in Cape Town and are happy to collect it. Just let me know x

      1. Thanks Leigh 🙂 I will do some more investigating and search more stores, I am unfortunately not a blonde but a brunette…..Thanks for the help you are awesome

  3. Hey there!

I have my own, it’s silly and funny.
I would love if you could give it a look and tell me what you think…

I live for lip gloss too!
    Ciao for now.

  4. Hi. Amazing blog, am such a fan. Iv noticed there is no search option / filter options to search for posts.. I remember you posting about a teeth whitening kit you swore by and ordered online … but cant find it 😦 Any way you could tell me the name of it and website again? 😊

    1. Hi Tanita! My new ‘skin’ doesn’t allow reader’s to search and it’s super annoying. Sorry about that. I’m always on about Crest Whitestrips which are amazing. There are loads of websites you can use to find them and prices seem to fluctuate all the time due to exchange rates and stock levels etc so have a google, compare rates and then buy what’s best. The last time I bought them I got them from a company called Biovea.com. Sometimes their price is reasonable, sometimes it’s not.

  5. Good day Leigh

My name is Bongi and I’m based in Johannesburg.
Do you ever allow any guest bloggers on your blog? I attend a number of events up here that are classy and would like to send write ups to you.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    1. Hi Casandra! I’m not the distributor for Str8 – you’d have to get in touch with them, but I have no clue who that is. I used to deal with the brand’s (now ex) PR only and now I’m not even sure it’s still available in SA.

  6. Hi Leigh, I was up until 1am last night reading your blog. So much fun to read, and was really impressed about how you know so much about all the ingredients of products. Just wanted to say, thanks very much and keep it coming 🙂

  7. Hi, Leigh:
Have you heard Nu Youth Aging-Wrinkle? The main ingredients are Retinyl Palmitate, Resveratrol, Acai and Aloe Vera. What do you think about it.

  9. Leigh Hello
You recommended to me a wonderful sunblock which is now finished. I decanted the last bit into a little pot and now im having a serious senr moment. What was its name. Peachy smell……starts with letter n….. great when i exercise and its light and fresh. Can you help me plx sweetheart.

    1. Hi hun! Apologies for the slow reply. Your comment got lost in a flurry of comp entries ;-P Was it perhaps Heliocare gel? It’s a super light gel-creme texture and it does smell a little bit fruity-floral. It’s one of my faves so it was quite possibly that.

      1. thanks Leigh That IS exactly the one. I really liked it. Greatly appreciate you getting back to me

  10. Any chance on a blog dealing with affordable pre-teen & teen skin products, especially that can assist with spots, etc. Clueless mother here!

    1. Hi hun! Salicylic acid (also known as BHA) is your teen’s friend. It’s the only skin-friendly acid that exfoliates deep inside the pore, not just on top. You’ll find it at 2% in Neutrogrena’s Visibly Clear spot-clearing face wash. (Don’t bother with the scrub or toner.) I’d then suggest Cetaphil’s DermaControl Oil-control moisturiser (purple lid) because it’s got an SPF of 30. This way, they don’t have to apply a moisturiser PLUS a separate SPF which can aggravate oily skin. As far as actual spot treatments goes, I still swear by Young Solution Spot Drops (cheap cheap!) on a ‘wet’ pimple. Applying it several times will dry it up. If you’re dealing with blind pimples then Differin gel is brilliant but it’s not cheap and you’ll need a script from your doc. (Some pharms will just hand it over though if you ask nicely.) Not keen on that solution? Try something like Oxy10 lotion. Don’t get their emergency blitzer, opt for the lotion as it contains 10% benzoly peroxide which is still the gold standard for pimples. It’s not as effective as Differin gel but if price is a big concern and the pimples are mild then it’ll help. If you’re dealing with proper acne though then it’s time to go to the dermatologist. You don’t want them to go untreated now because the resultant scarring will be for life. Hope this helps!

  11. Hello, loving your blog… 38 mum oily combo skin. Done some microneedling but thinking of also moving to a great retinol based product… advise please😊
Also have you heard of the brand Alex from Germany, thoughts?
    Love Ange

    1. Hi hun! Glad you’re enjoying it. My fave retinol serum is Dermaceutic 1%. In terms of value for money, it’s brill. If you’re new to the retinol scene, start with their 0,5% option and when you finish that, switch to 1%. It’s one of the best things you can do for your skin along with wearing an SPF in the day. I really like Cetaphil’s oily skin moisturiser (it’s got an SPF 30 in it) and it’s so light you don’t even know you’re wearing sunscreen. As far as Alex goes, I’ve never heard of it. Sorry man! Leigh x x
