And the celebrity scents just keep coming!
A while back Adam Levine knocked them, saying he’d sooner die than release an eponymous fragrance but clearly the price was right as he’s had a change of heart and created Adam Levine for her (R495 for 30ml and R695 for a 50ml, selected Foschini, Clicks and Dis-Chem stores).
A soft, comforting scent, you could easily wear Adam’s scent on an autumn day in the office. It’s notes include saffron, citrus, marigold, spices, Indian jasmine, sandalwood, rose petals, benzoin and vanilla. My nose definitely gets the marigold (something you won’t find in too many other fragrances) as well as powder, lots and lots of soft creamy wood, a dash of vanilla and just a drop of benzoin.
Adam Levine for her reminded me so much of another fragrance I’d smelled before and it took me a while to get it but I’ve now come to realise it could easily be a sister to Estee Lauder’s Sensuous, another scent where creamy sandalwood gets to be the star. If you’re a woody-oriental girl this is something you’ll want to sniff. Unlike many other celebrity fragrances it manages to not smell ‘cheap’.
Next up, we’ve got Sofia by Sofia Vergara EDP (R595 for 30ml and R795 for a 50ml EDP, selected Foschini, Red Square, Dis-Chem, Clicks, Stuttafords and Truworths stores.).
I can tell you right now Sofia is a big fan of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle. I’ll put money on the fact that when she was creating her signature scent she handed it over to her perfumiers and said ‘make it smell like this but a little different so I don’t get sued!’ A good thing, because Chanel’s best seller is a heavenly-smelling and while Sofia’s floriental works it’s way from opening to dry down you’ll definitely get flashes of it. The end result, however, is a bit different in that it eventually settles into a soft, ever so slightly powdery woody-vanilla scent.
Notes-wise, you’re looking at blackberry, cassis buds, plum, violet, rose (Colombian, obviously), orchid (yep, that’s Colombian too), sandalwood and vanilla. My flat mate, Gaylene, is my chief ‘second nose’ and she describes Sofia’s scent as elegant, feminine and easy to wear on a day when you’re ‘dressed up and feeling pretty’. Still, it’s very much a fragrance for a woman as opposed to a girl.
Lastly, let’s chat about RiRi by Rihanna EDP (R545 for 30ml and R745 for 50ml, selected Edgars, Foschini, Red Square, Dis-Chem, Clicks and Truworths stores.).
So, what’s in the mix? Mandarin, cassis, rum (a shout out to her Barbados roots), passion fruit (lots and lots of it!), pink freesia, white flowers, sandalwood, musk, benzoin and vanilla. Initially, I get a dash of citrus and a big blast of passion fruit that makes me think of the granadilla lollies they sell on Clifton 4th. Eventually, the petals start to pull through and then you’re left with something that could easily be a fusion of The Body Shop’s White Musk and Vanilla EDTs.
RiRi could be worn both day or night and, while it feels more suited to a younger woman, I imagine anyone with a sweet tooth might appreciate it.

I would love to see Chris Martin from Coldplay come out with a celebrity scent because he is sexy and gorgeous in an understated way…It would be woodsy with a hint of musk, but still feminine
If I had to pick a celebrity to fashion a perfume, I would definitely pick Ms. Bonang Matheba. Judging by her O.T.T personality and chameleon fashion sense, her perfume would be bold, loud and in your face.
I’m no expert in the different kinds of scents but I would imagine the perfume to linger in a room for days, a whiff of her passing would intoxicate and not be forgotten. Something like YSL Opium.
Rich and decadent and distinct enough to identify from miles away.
I would LOVE if my favey fave band ‘Fall Out Boy’ would come out with a signature scent. It would probably smell of guitar sweat though, so I don’t think I would ever use it but I would totally buy twenty bottles and keep them forever.(!!!!!)

I think Maps Maponyane (Jnr) should release a fragrance – he is hip and happening at the moment and such a humble person. It will be a masculine scent, but not sharp more kind of a confident and fresh scent.
I would love to see Margot Robbie launch a perfume! she is some body who can adapt to any role in a movie , just like a perfume should adapt to the person wearing it .
She is young and exciting and I think her perfume would make you feel youthful and energetic

Just like herself, her fragrance would definitely be unique and will smell unlike any other perfume you or I own. Basically you won’t need to get a bouquet of flowers from your partner or boyfriend, in order to feel special, because the scent will already be on you…LOL!!!

If Candice Swanepoel ever brought out her own perfume, it is guaranteed to catch a full room’s attention just like her stunning looks. I imagine her perfume would contain the scent of roasted coconuts (to whisk you away to all the exotic photoshoot destinations she’s been to!) with the additional scents of Turkish rose and amber.

She’s strong and bold.And with all the criticism about her sex change, she’s still doing her.I like how she always manages to put a smile on her and continue to slay.I think her fragrance would be floral, maybe with some top notes of gardenia and Base notes of amber and musk.The type of fragrance you pull out when you are feeling confident and bold and about to kick butt in an interview or serious meeting 🙂
I would love a signature scent for Lana del Rey. It would be a light and refreshing scent with a light peony base with notes of lavender, Orange, musk, ylang ylang, peach and ocean.

I would love it if Ruby Rose bought out a scent. I imagine it would be something spicey with a punch of aquatic and a spot of sugary vanilla, as even though she is a tom boy she still rocks the femme look every now and again. It would be something you can dress up or wear casually.
I’d like to see Anna Kendrick release a scent! If her Twitter is anything to go by, it would probably be something super kitschy, with a name that no one would ever have thought of, and a bottle that just breaks all stereotypes! And I’m going to imagine it would smell like the 90s. I don’t know why but that’s so how I see her scent if she ever came up with one.

I’m going back to the past with Vivien Leigh when she was Scarlett O’Hara in Gone with the Wind. A fitting fragrance for her as a confident woman would be scents of tuberose, orange mandarin and sandalwood. A fragrance to portray her as a go getter.
I think Loretha Holloway should definitely have a scent, based on her sexiness as a woman and all the strong characters she plays… The scent should be musky but yet a bit Floral like.To portray her buildness and feminine side.

Jo-Anne Strauss – keeping it strictly Cape Townian. Scent will be a fresh breezy beachy smell with a hint of vanilla & rose. For the sophisticated lady! One who needs to smell fresh after a long day at work.

I’d love to see a scent brought out by Megan Fox, I really think it will be a sexy seductive scent (more of a date night scent) she is so seductive,sexy and glamorous so I cant imagine anything else that would best describe her. At the moment, I have Adele’s 25 album playing on repeat and I thought that she will be my icon to create an awesome perfume. I can imagine something down the line like Chanel no 5. The aromas will range from rose, jasmine, iris, citrus with a small hint of vanilla. The scent will be classic, strong, but not too overpowering, just like her music.

We could sell it to all the Saffers who live elsewhere in the world so when they get home sick, they can spray in some South Africa to ease the pain and remind them of all the lekker dinge from home! He could even put his signature cap on as the lid!! It would be so cool! I think he would make a fortune!!

My answer would be Ashley Graham. I think, even though she is not an actress or singer, as a model she exudes the true essence of a powerful, strong and beautiful woman. With celebrity fragrances, you aren’t merely purchasing the fragrance, but also what that celebrity stands for as an idol. And I think she is well-respected and well-loved by the public, not only for her looks, but for what she symbolises – a body positive movement. I think it would have a natural, fresh scent.

I think Candice Swanepoel should have her own perfume. Born and bred in SA this beautiful Victoria Secret model certainly is the full package. The perfume would have a musk undertone and would be sexy yet sweet.
