Review with swatches: L’Oreal Collection Exclusive Pure Reds

Hands up! Who enjoys a good red lippie? While I’ve been pretty hooked on fuchsia for years now, I do enjoy the odd holiday in rooiville and L’Oreal’s new Collection Exclusive Pure Reds collection is a good one.

Looking hot ladies!

Each matte red hue was custom created to suit one of the brand’s spokesmodels – Julianne Moore, Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria and co. Packaging-wise, they all look pretty slick in a black plastic tube that feels a bit more expensive thanks to leather-like embossing and the spokesmodels’ signature in gold.

Blake is bottom left, Eva up top and Doutzen coming in from the right.

I was given three of the lippies to try – Eva (Longoria), Doutzen (Kroes) and Blake (Lively).

While Eva is a brick red, Doutzen is pretty orange and Blake is a blue-toned ruby that suits me best. I liked that despite being matte, it didn’t dry out my lips and the staying power is awesome.

L'Oreal reckon Blake is great for warm skin tones but that's rubbish - I'm cool-toned and this looks great.

  1. Leigh, you mention you’ve been stuck on fuscia for years. Please tell me what your signature lipstick is, that one you use more than any other lipstick.

      1. Ooh that simple … I like! I definitely also think pink is your color … hands down! Dankie Skattie! πŸ˜€
