The Body Shop rolls out a new Camomile make-up removal collection

The Body Shop’s recently launched a new Camomile make-up removal collection, one that’s ‘tough on make-up but super-soft on your skin’ and boy is that the truth.

The collection includes four removers; a Gentle Eye Make-up Remover, Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil (R150), Waterproof Eye Make-up Remover (R110) and Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter R140). Everything’s formulated with Community Fair Trade Camomile oil from a family run pesticide-free co-op in Norfolk England.

I’ve used everything in the range sans for the Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover and am currently having a bit of a love affair with everything else. At first, I thought the cleansing oil was the shizz; it whips off any make-up in a jiff – even waterproof mascara – and, afterwards, my skin’s left feeling lush and hydrated albeit a bit oily, but you can then rinse it with water.

I tend to do this ‘before bed’ or on days when my skin feels a bit droog and needs a little extra pampering. As an added trick, I’ve discovered they also do a great job of removing wax from your skin after an intense wax strip session.

I then tried the cleansing butter and was like ‘woah!’ This baby removes anything. You could have freakin’ tar on your face and it would slide it off. If the cleansing oil was nail polish remover, the butter would be 100% acetone. It’s also a total dupe for Clinque’s Take The Day Off cleansing balm.bs butter

The obvious question now is which of the two I prefer but I just can’t answer that just yet. It’s kind of like choosing between who you’d rather jump on Supernatural. Some days I’m a Sammy girl, but mostly I’m all about Dean. Tough one.

For those who don’t appreciate such an oily formula, the Waterproof Eye Make-up Remover’s a serious gem. bsAs it’s a bi-phase product, it does have oil in it, but not loads of it, and it does just as good a job in removing make-up as the cleansing oil but leaves your face feeling like you don’t need to whip out a cleansing wipe afterwards. It’s also alcohol-free so you don’t have to worry about dry, tight-feeling skin after cleansing. In a way, it reminds me a lot of Lancome’s infamous Bi-Facil (another amazing eye make-up remover) but at a snip of the price.

Because of all the above, I’m now enmeshed in a full on love triangle with all three products. Or is it a quadrangle ‘cos you have to factor me into the equation? Either way, I’m crazy in love (and my face is super duper clean).

Love, love

Leigh
