The Beauty Factory, for those who don’t know, is a proudly South African bath and body shop. They have a few stores sprinkled around malls up north and I’m sure more will roll out across the country as time goes by. Those in iKapa and other non-Jozi areas can still get their hands on the products via the brand’s new-ish online store, www.beautyfactory.co.za. They have some very mooi things and offer free delivery on orders over R299.

Anyway, their newest collection is called the Originals Range; a selection of products boasting ye olde worlde style packaging and a fresh, clean, ‘wholesome’ scent.

I was sent a few of the goodies to try…

…and most liked the hand & nail cream, R49. It’s a nice light crème texture that hydrates your hands beautifully with no greasy-feeling residue and the formula contains nourishing Shea butter and antioxidant vitamin E. The real selling point for me though is the scent. To me, it smells like white soap and fresh laundry that’s been left out to dry on a slightly breezy summer’s day. It’s bliss-inducing to the max and when this cream is on my mitts, I simply can’t stop sniffing them.

I’m also really enjoying using the body polish, but to be fair, it’s more of a fabulously scented body wash. The scrubbies aren’t concentrated enough to strip off self-tan. But that scent! If The Beauty Factory ever uses this fragrance to create a scented candle I’ll be snapping them up en masse.

Anyway, go check out the store when you’ve got time. They have some very nice things at very good prices. Also, if you buy any four Originals Range products you’ll get the cheapest item for free.
