‘What’s New!’ at Clicks: NYX The Curve eyeliner and Tip Top nail art pens

Clicks is always quick to snap up beauty innovations. I mean, how much did we love that Sensationail home gel nail kit? And if they ever stop importing Batiste dry shampoo I’ll die a thousand deaths.

Anyway, they’re now bringing out a selection of beauty goodies that they’re calling ‘What’s New!’ These new products will only be available at selected stores for a limited time only as new products move in to replace them every eight weeks. I really do hope though that if something sells especially well that they’ll keep it on as a part of permanent offerings.

Right now, Clicks’ What’s New! goodies include NYX The Curve felt tip eyeliner (R264,99) and Tip Top Confetti Glitter Duo nail polish (R79,99).

When I first laid eyes on the eyeliner I thought it looked a bit gimmicky and wondered it wouldn’t, in fact, be trickier to use than a regular eyeliner pen but no, it’s utterly fabulous. I love that you don’t need any ‘practice’ to get to grips with its odd-looking shape. It’s so ridiculously ergonomic that you ‘get it’ within seconds and immediately go ‘Oh wow. Why aren’t all eyeliners shaped like this?! Its curve lets you get into the corner of each eye with the greatest of ease and makes getting super close to your lash line a breeze.

As for the liner itself, it’s fabulously pigmented and sticks around until you take it off regular eye make-up remover or even a facial wipe. Honestly, this is hands down one of the best liquid liners I’ve ever used. When Clicks stops stocking it (sob, weep, wail) I’m going to buy more of them from eBay.

Now let’s talk about Tip Top’s new Confetti Duo nail polish. We all know I’m not a fan of most nail art but – surprise – I actually really like this product in a shade called Pat On The Black.

Using it was ridiculously easy. I simply painted my nails black, poured the sprinkles on top and then tapped my nails against a piece of cardboard to remove the excess.

I like that it dried quickly and less than five minutes to do. The only thing is it’s kind of like a ‘one night only’ kind of look as, the next day, my sprinkles had turned matte and dull-looking. Still, it’s so easy to do and inexpensive I wouldn’t let that put me off buying it. I wore it to Khanyi Dhlomo’s Luminance trunk show the other day and it got me loads of compliments.

Nice one Clicks, you’ll always be one of my number one beauty destinations.

Love, love

Leigh

  1. I’ve also tried out that NYX eyeliner pen and it’s fantastic! It is well pigmented like you said and application took, like, two seconds.
It’s too bad that the nail polish didn’t last too long as that’s a very fun manicure.
