For those of you that don’t know GOSH, they’re a PETA-approved Danish cosmetics brand that’s pretty big overseas. Aside from colour cosmetics, they also do skin and hair care products as well as fragrances.

I got to attend the brand’s SA launch in Jozi at Katy’s Palace Bar in Jozi. The afternoon was a colourful blur of cocktails and cosmetics and I loved how they’d set up individual stands where you could get to experience the product. Think GOSH nail bars, GOSH hair styling stations and GOSH make-up and fragrance counters.

…

The height of awesomeness, however, was when a gorgeous acrobatic dancer descended from the ceiling, popped open a champage bottle and proceeded to fill everyone’s glasses from the air.

Isidingo stars where walking around too including one miss Tema Sebopedi:

Anyway, I got to walk off with a little box of GOSH goodies and I’m excited to give them all a bash and then write about my favourites. So far I’m pretty taken with their Light n’ Shine lip glaze (R140) in shade 11. It’s a pretty sparkly fuchsia that reminds me of one of my staples, MAC lipglass in Flashmode, except it’s got a light in the lid and a mirror on the side of the tube.

Perfect for slicking it on when you’re out and about at night. That and making your friends go ‘ooooh!’ when you ruk it out of your bag, of course.
Price-wise, GOSH is a little more expensive in SA than it is in the states or the UK but still pretty wallet-friendly. To give you an idea, a ‘nail lacquer’ is R79, a Velvet Touch lipstick is R110 and their Amazing Lengths mascara is R89. This kind of puts it on par with other ‘drugstore’ brands like Revlon, Maybelline and L’Oreal.
