Last week I was invited to a little photographic exhibition at Tasteful Art in Loop street. (For those of you have yet to pop in, you have to make a plan. Owner Kim makes the best carrot cake I’ve ever tasted and does a mean red velvet cupcake…)
Now meet Jaco Herbst, the photographer who’s work was on display:

Jaco’s been working as a photographer for yonks and does everything from weddings to modelling portfolios. This is a ‘tasteful’ nude he shot for CAN, the cancer association in Namibia.

A group of women got together and agreed to strip off to create a tasteful nude calendar to help raise funds for a Namibian man diagnosed with the disease.
I also liked this one…

Still, I’m a shallow little cow in that while I like arty snaps just as much as the next girl, I get much more excited about cupcakes. (Reeee!)

In regards to mense on the scene, I enjoyed schmingling with Elrico and his girlfriend Ritza.

Together they run LUXO, a hot new fashion blog. You can read about their take on the event over here; they got some really good piccies.
I also got to catch up with Carol MacCallum from Just Skin Clinic in Green Point. She’s v excited about the fact that they’re now stocking Dr. Brandt products and are running a little special on Lamelle’s new NOURSH range; if you buy all five of the products you get a free make-up brush kit.
Anyway, if you’re in the area and looking for a sweet little spot to grab brekkie or lunch, pop into Tasteful Art… but don’t leave without a cupcake! Want to check out more of Jaco’s stuff? Visit his website over here.
Thanks Kim, I had fun!

Love, love
Leigh
