I’m possibly the only girl in the world who finds Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara and it’s iconic pink and green tube completely and utterly meh. I seriously don’t know how it keeps on winning so many awards or manages to fly off the shelf at the rate of knots. But in saying that, you should probably bear in mind that I’m the same girl who’s immune to the charms of Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling and Channing Tatum. Oh and Ryan Reynolds too. (I know, I know. I’ve also wondered if perhaps there’s something wrong with me.)

Still, I do think Maybelline make the odd uber fab mascara, namely Full n’ Soft (which is so old it may or may not be discontinued) and now The Colossal Volum’ Express Smoky Eye mascara.

Smoky Eyes is enriched with super dark kohl pigments to create a super matte, ultra dark lashline. What makes it even more fabulous, however, is the brush. It’s nice and big but makes use of lots of fine hairbrush-like bristles so you can slap on loads of product but comb it out to perfection. The result? Dark semi-voluminous lashes that are all perfectly defined; a clumpage-factor of zero.

Nice one Maybelline! Very, very nice.
