Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour foundation review

Rimmel’s got a new foundation on the shelves:

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour foundation, R99,95.

While it’s not my favourite long-wearing foundation, it’s still a good one and yes, it does last for ages. Up to 25 hours? I’m not sure. I’m not a Bar One chomping fireman. Still, it’s very well behaved in that it really does stay put, from sun up til sundown. No creasing up around or under your eyes. No coming off on your collar.

Texture-wise, it’s a little on the thick side and isn’t all that easy to blend unless you put it on straight after applying your moisturiser to help give it a little ‘slip’. This ends up sheering it out a little but the coverage remains decent enough.

Once on, it felt nice and light on my skin and didn’t dry it out. In fact, it almost looked a little dewy in my oilier areas but this wasn’t anything a few sweeps of MAC Blot powder couldn’t sort out. Oh! And did I mention it’s got an SPF of 20? The best bit though is that it’s available in 12 shades that range from super pale (Ivory) to deep, dark and chocolatey.

Solange Knowles AKA Beyonce's li'l sis is the product's 'face'.

I reckon Solange was a good choice for the brand ‘cos A) she’s got beautiful, flawless skin and B) Lord knows it’s a 25 hour job, eternally living in the shadow of your much more famous sister.

Interested? Lasting Finish is on the shelves as I type. If you try it, please let me know your thoughts.

Love, love
