Everyone knows Juicy Couture the fashion brand. Pretty much every celeb on the planet owns a Juicy track suit and at one point Paris Hilton seemed to live in them.

Thing is, Juicy Couture make fragrances too and I was recently given Viva la Juicy EDP for review:

While Viva La Juicy has been out in the states for a while, it’s only recently made its way to SA shores and is classified as a ‘fruity-floral gourmand’ with notes that include wild berries, juicy mandarin, white flowers like gardenia and jasmine. All this on a base of amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood and pralines. While it sounds like it might be a one way ticket to migraineville, it’s actually not. I mean, make no mistake, it is sweet, but in the vein of Miss Dior Cherie, Chanel Chance and perhaps a softer (much less expensive) version of La Prairie Midnight Rain; not like Angel or Aquolina Pink Sugar.
On me, the first spritz is a sparkly red berry fizz that soon gives way to a white floral bouquet. Some days I smell loads of jasmine which I dislike and then, on others, I can only pick up the gardenia which I love. When it finally dries down, I get a creamy vanilla base; no wood, caramel or nuts. It’s the kind of thing I’d wear when I want to feel uber-girlie and, while it settles quietly enough to be worn in the day, I’d be more inclined to spritz it on at night.
According to Juicy, this scent is for a ‘glamorous girl who is always the life of the party’. She ‘never turns down a glass of champagne or the chance to get into the tiniest bit of trouble’. (Sounds like she and I would get along just fine…) Still, regardless of your penchant for le glam le vie, if you’re into citrusy, sweet uber-feminine fragrances like the ones I’ve mentioned, perhaps give Viva La Juicy a bash. It’s available at both Edgars and Red Square stores and a 50ml bottle is a very reasonable R595.
Love, love
