Last week the peeps from Expresso had me on their show as a ‘beauty expert’. Myself and the lovely Leigh-Anne Williams had a bit of a chat about multitasking women and L’Oreal Revitalift Total Repair 10, a multitasking moisturiser:

I was sooo nervy about being live on TV. I kept imagining I’d be asked a question, go totally blank and then just sit there with big eyes like some dumbstruck, overly made-up nag aapie. Fortunately, Leanne (and everyone else involved) were super nice and the moment the cameras started rolling I totally got over it. In fact, I wouldn’t mind appearing on TV again, but WON’T be watching when I’m done. Seeing myself on screen was like putting PINS in my eyes and I couldn’t wrap my head around how that babbling blonde creature could be ME. It just felt so weird and I was convinced my face looked… I don’t know how to say it… squished?! My darling boyfriend didn’t help much either.
Me: ‘Noooo! Oh my God! That can’t be me! Why is my face so crumpled and tiny?! I look like a troll!’
Mike: ‘Don’t worry babe, our widescreen’s probably just re-sized the image or something…’
Me: ‘But then how come Leigh-Anne’s face looks totally normal?!’
Mike: ‘She’s probably just got a really long, weird-shaped face… like a marrow… and now it looks totally normal ‘cos of the “squish-factor”.’
Me: (hysterical) ‘No. NO! She really REALLY doesn’t…’
Mike: (stroking my hair) ‘Ag, but you’re such a pretty troll…’
So ja… I now totally get it when I hear of actors who aren’t able to watch their own films.

Anyway, getting back to L’Oreal’s newest anti-ager…
Revitalift Total Repair 10 is aimed at women in their 40’s but there’s no reason why anyone in their twenties couldn’t use it, provided they didn’t have an oily skin-type. It’s active ingredients include a form of wrinkle-busting retinol (retinyl palmitate) which is very mild when compared to regte egte retinol. This could be a good thing, in a way, as it’ll be gentle enough to use every day and won’t irritate sensitive skin. On the downside, it won’t be as potent as other anti-wrinkle creams that contain pure retinol, so I’d suggest you give it a boost with a retinol serum if you’re very concerned in regards to wrinkles.
Another key ingredient is something L’Oreal refer to as Stimulift. This is a combination of yeast and soy extract which are said to help encourage collagen production. Soy can also help brighten up your complexion and this, together with the cream’s SPF 15, can help prevent the formation of new pigmentation caused by the sun. The only thing it can’t help you out with is ‘small face syndrome’, but ag wat, with less of a face to cover at least your bottle will last you a little bit longer…
Love, love
