Pure Romance Kiss & Tell tingling lip gloss review

Remember my little gift pakkie from Pure Romance? Well it included a few lip lovelies too and I thought I’d show them off to you. Pure Romance Kiss & Tell tingling lip gloss, R130, is available in five shades and I got these three to play with:

From left to right: Raspberry Rush, In the Nude and Make Me Blush.

Check out the swatches:

From left to right; Rasberry Rush, In the Nude and Make Me Blush all shot without flash...

and…

...as above with flash.

Each colour has its own unique scent and taste underscored with a nice shot of mint. Raspberry Romance is sweet and fruity; In the Nude reminds me of those butterscotch mints they hand out at the Spur and Make Me Blush smells and tastes like a peppermint candy cane.

The best bit? Thanks to a shot of menthol, the glosses all tingle on your lips and, unlike other mint-infused glosses that only feel zingy for a few minutes after application, these babies tickle your mouth for ages. Or at least two of them do… Raspberry Romance kinda lets the team down a little in that its formulation’s a bit ‘thin’. In fact, it’s not tacky in the least and very sheer so it kind of slides off within minutes of application, doesn’t really deliver in the colour stakes or tingle half as much as the other two which are both nice and sticky causing them to sit tight on your lips and zing, zing, zing…

My favourite of all three is Make Me Blush. It’s possibly the mintiest of all three and tastes so good I have to force myself not to lick my lips. I’ve been wearing it since the moment I got it with my regular el cheapo Chinese shop hot pink lip stain. I love how it tones down the brightness of the stain and adds a sheer iridescence.

Mooiness if I don't say so myself.

Other pluses? It feels nice on, doesn’t dry out my lips and gives me a fresh ‘just brushed my teeth’ feeling (ridiculous, I know… but it does!).  The tingly-feeling’s also quite addictive. If you want one, you can snap it up online over here. Make Me Blush has become a hand bag staple and I reckon I’ll be wearing it to the Veuve Clicquot Masters tomorrow…

Big glossy, minty kiss,

Leigh

    1. It certainly feels as though it’s getting the circulation pumping in that area. Dunno if the plumping’s all that visible, but hey, I’ll take all the help I can get 😉
