When I first heard about Brutal Fruit’s Glam Camp I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. I mean HOW in God’s name can you make camping (shudder) glamorous? (If you know me well, you’ll know I simply don’t go anywhere where I can’t plug in a hair dryer. End of story. ‘Cos I’m super easy going and low maintenance like that…) Anyway, now that I have a better idea of what it’s all about, I gotta concede it does sound kinda awesome so let me fill you in…
‘Glam Camp’ goes down on the 11th and 12th of February at Casalinga, a super elegant-looking huuuuge Italian restaurant in Muldersdrift. You don’t have to attend both days so there’s actually no real ‘camping’ involved. (Sjoe!) However, if you happen to win VIP tickets – there are 20 of them up for grabs – you’ll get to stay over in uber-luxurious accommodation with not a tent in sight.
Anyway, Glamp Camp involves a whopload of cool workshops aimed at fabulizing your body, mind and soul all led by industry-related experts. (To give you an idea, Yardley’s glam guru Carl Isaacs and make-up maven Leigh Toselli will be chatting about make-up and styling while Top Billing hottie Aidan Bennetts is going to teach you all about DIY and home decor…) Other reasons as to why its gonna be awesome? Being a Brutal Fruit affair, I’m quite sure there’ll be loads of free booze (yay!) and Zebra & Giraffe are going to provide a li’l bit of entertainment.
